I just don't see Halak in an aggressive posture. Looks very laid back as usual.

He seems calm, isn't that usually a good thing for goalies?

He always seems "calm" even after letting goals in. The guy has no external emotion.

It's crazy how much better than us the Kings are. They're basically what we would be if we had the money to spend on free agents.

Well calm or not, IMO it was Halak that kept us in it, made some key saves early on.

I don't really think he had any tough shots, but he doesn't seem shaky so far.

The Blues 2nd pick, Schwartz being the first.... Is that what he meant?

Solid defensive period, need to get something going though.

What the hell is going on in the Coyotes-Preds game? Seen 6-3 in the 1st at the bottom of the screen and had to pull up the boxscore to make sure I wasn't imaging things!

I don't really think they look more talented our team is playing sloppy.

More talented, no but they are stronger on the puck and more fundamentally sound in their system

That in no way was an improvement over the way the team has played recently. They still turned pucks over in bad spots, still gave up breakaway scoring chances, and had less offense and more shots allowed than they did against Edmonton. It looks like the only thing coming out of those meetings is tentative play by players too afraid to make a mistake.

Also, can the Blues please swap McDonald and Schwartz. One of those guys is trying out there.

I think AMac and Paul Kariya switched bodies before this season. The last impression I had of Paul Kariya was streaking down the left wing and taking a slap shot from 5 feet inside the blue-line into the goalies crest. Now that's all I see AMac do too. Not to mention his backchecking is non-existent, there were at least 3 different times he just chilled once he crossed back into the D-zone instead of putting pressure on the Kings player pushing the play. The Kings player on two of those occasions (Once was with about a minute left in the third period) pulled up and spun around, if AMac had put any effort into backchecking he would have had an easy turnover and taken the puck up the ice.

I have yet to see a reason why we shouldn't put Schwartz into AMac's spot, the Amac-Berglund-Stewart line is a -huge- defensive liability with almost no offense.

More committed to it is how I would put it. They play a great team game when they want to. Blues do too, just not as frequently. They have our number, but overall these teams are extremely similar in many aspects. The GF/GA and records prove that.

That first period was well played by both sides with LA being a bit better overall. The Blues probably feel like no matter what they cant beat these guys on the scoreboard at this point.

I might start listening to the game on the radio just so I don't see another Bud Light commercial.
