Hopefully next year he will be in the starting lineup.

If Montreal were to get that as an offer from San Jose, they take it. Even without any goals Clowe is the exact forward we NEED for a deep playoff run. We have tons of prospects and 6 picks in the first 100 of the upcoming draft. We don't need to simply stockpile picks and prospects, we need to get 2 key components to make a serious Cup run: a big, hard hitting power forward who can hit, fight, and chip in offensively (Clowe, Clarkson) and a big stay-at-home crease clearing hard hitting defenceman who can fight if necessary (Stoner). If we get those two need positions filled, we will be able to compete.

I would happily give up a prospect and a couple of picks to get those need positions filled.

I'd much rather move Collberg or Leblanc than Kristo.

Or none of the above. Not for clowe, especially that we have no insurance that we gonna resign him.

That would be the point. Sharks GM wants a top prospect and a first. Habs GM does not want to give the first. Compromise on a pick that should only be 8-10 positions later.

The Pens still need Clowe to help with the toughness,
so what do you say a 1st + Glass for Clowe?

The new Pens second game result (4-0).

Nevermind.

From what I have read on your boards, Kristo and Leblanc are a step ahead of Collberg. All are better than almost all of the Sharks prospects not named Hertl. From our needs perspective, we would prefer Kristo, then LeBlanc as they both could vie for a spot on next years third line. Collberg is probably not going to hit the bigs next year.

Kristo has had a bit of a rocky ride through NCAA. Was in some trouble last year, and had frost bite that held him out for quite a while as well.

Either way, he played 4 years in ND and was dynamite this year (mind you he was a senior), they are in the works of signing him to a pro contract now so that he can go and play in Hamilton.

If he's not traded he'll start in Hamilton next year and if he progresses be a call up.

Honestly, he has the talent to be a top 6, whether he can convert it to the pro game is up in the air. Definitely upside worth a 2nd round IMO.

As a Pens fan I'd offer up Kennedy (which I know isn't great, but neither has Clowe's play). Clowe could replace him on the 3rd/4th line. I know this isn't the best deal in the world, but Clowe physicality would help our bottom 6. TK is less physical but faster. change of scenery may do them both well.

Won't happen though, as i'm sure if Shero wanted him he would've included him i the murray deal.

Thanks for the assessment, basically what I had figured. Kristo should hit the AHL and take awhile to adjust to the speed of that game. Hopfully by mid year, he gets called up for some coffee. In 2014, he is in yours (or ours?) training camp with legitimate shot at making team (if he doesn't regress). On the sharks, he would have a better chance to make our team earlier (Habs have some DEPTH in forward, we are envious)

He'll hopefully get a shot for Montreal this year to see where his development is at.

If Clowe isn't going to re-sign in SJ and expresses this to DW, getting Kristo would be a good deal. Unless they want to replace him in the line up this year then I'm not really sure what could be worked out.

Clowe + 6th for Kristo + White maybe?

Especially if they get into a bidding war for him.
Clowe's value could certainly have gone up, but don't count on a bidding war involving the Habs. Bergevin has already said that he won't sell the farm for a rental. He'll make what he feels is a fair offer and it will be take it or leave it.

Doesn't Clowe have a NTC as well?

It was reported last night that it was his neck, not his shoulder, and that's he's fine.

It was also reported in the last couple days that Boston had soured on him cause of his health concerns. So who really knows.

I want Clowe to get a new deal, so a 3rd sounds pretty weak to me. He'd get a good return if traded. He is not his points total, and that's why there's so much talk about him.

That smile is enticing, though. What toothpaste do you use?

Sensodyne like a boss!

haha I posted something earlier which would hinge on Clowe saying he didn't want to walk as a UFA.

Clowe + 6th for Kristo + White

WHat do you think?
