If Florida has the first overall pick I could see them taking drouin or mac.

Maybe they'll be nice and leave Seth for us

Why was Voracek or Gagne not used before Schenn and Simmonds?

We would have the third pick right now.

Giroux doesn't need to dangle. He does it for the lulz.

Giroux better make the top 10 tomorrow on ESPN, no doubt he'll be beat out by somebody dunking but he should still be on there somewhere.

I don't think most people are rooting for the Flyers to lose. However, if they lose, do it in regulation.

I'm just not upset about losing because it will help the team in the long run.

We are a good team deep in the draft. A number 1 overall pick doesn't mean we will magically be better next year or even 5 years from now.

What happens when if get that first overall pick and get dropped to second anyway due to the lottery, and someone else gets Seth Jones anyway?

We have a good team, they're just not gelling together this (short) year. You never know what can change, and we're only 7 points out.

I'm just sick of coming here to talk with other fans about Flyer games, and just hearing them ***** and moan when we actually do good. If you don't want them to win, fine, just don't post or watch. You're not a real fan anyway.
Don't tell me I'm not a really fan you dolt. I've been playing and watching hockey for 20 years. I've missed 3 games since 2005. I want to see this team win above all else. But making the playoffs and getting bumped in a round isn't enough. You're not getting a franchise defenseman through trade or FA anymore. This isn't 1998. You have to develop your own. Look at every cup winner in the past 5 years and tell me you don't need a franchise defenseman.

What I'm sick of is this mindset that mediocrity is fine as long as we have our misguided pride of being able to say we haven't missed the playoffs in x amount of years. Come on.

Maybe I should be questioning the validity of your fair weather mindset, rather than you questioning my fandom when my team is in 28th and I'm still interested.

1) If we start winning games, maybe miss the playoffs by a point or two, that may make Homer think that this team doesn't need big changes. This team needs big changes.....

2) How many times have we seen this before: a team plays terribly all year, but goes on a hot streak at the end of the season. Because of this, the coach isn't fired(Andy. ****ing. Reid). I don't want that to happen. Lavy needs to go.

3) There are 15 teams in the conference. There are 8 playoffs spots. There are 15 games left in the season. There are 13 teams ahead of the Flyers in the conference standings. The odds are heavily against them to make the playoffs. I'd rather see them fail miserably, get a high pick and be pressured into big changes than start winning and come in 9th, get an average mid-first-round pick, and make a couple small changes.

and I'm going to add to that:

4) Winning now means Homer is less likely to sell at the deadline. Picking up picks for players that don't figure into our long term plans is very helpful.

Listen, if there was any sliver of a chance that they could make the playoffs, I'd be rooting my ass off for wins. The fact of the matter is they aren't making it. They haven't won 3 games in a row at all this season.
This post made me laugh. Do you think Holmgren is a ******** 5 years old kid that only thinks about "what just happened" and can't analyse anything?

ESPN loves having routine dunks in the top 10.
