The Wild have a good chance today, but the defense is going to have to perform better.

Did you guys see that Jagr and Dallas are talking extension?

Are they going to end up being the new Calgary? They seem really happy having a just okay team.

Heatley just plays slow now. He still has a fantastic shot, but his legs are just not there. He can barely keep up with play some times.

They have better pieces than Calgary at the moment, with Benn, Eriksson and Lehtonen all being better than anything Calgary is holding onto. But, they are starting to be in danger of going on a Minnesota-like run of 1st round failures, which could cripple them. They've picked 8th, 11th, 14th and 13th the last 4 years and it's going to be important for at least 3 of these guys to be players for them (with Glennie probably a lost cause).

There's a link to a stream in the first post. Don't know about the quality though.

I'm sure they are contractually obglicated to get a certain number of games on Regular FSN for both Wild and Wolves.

Yup, they certainly have better pieces than Calgary now. I was referring to Calgary a couple years removed from 2004, when they did everything they could to stay relevant, only to end up where they are now. Granted, Benn is a much younger star to build around than anyone on Calgary back then (except Phaneuf...of course, Benn could crash and burn that way too). But like you said, they're in danger of just being okay...and that seems to be their plan.

Excited to see him play tonight if it's true. I just hope he isn't nervous given our win streak and not playing his first game this year at home.

Any time you can sign/extend Jagr, you do it.

Agreed...Jagr is still a beast...

I'd only extend him one year at a time though...Father Time will eventually catch up.

Nothing wrong signing a goal scorer with history. A short term deal will only make them a deeper team.

Why is hacket in goal instead off kuemper thats not sane

This decision is made with sentimental reasons related to the unofficial "depth chart" on wild goalies

It's kind off good to put a predicted future wild goalie in there on the hot seat

BUT to choose one that's not been particular HOT lately is stupid

Maybe hack got the rust out the system in the beating he got earlier this week if not then this is a mistake
