I hope he signs, the Islanders need to get better again so we can have a very competitive division next year.

Will have more later in @NewsdaySports, but multiple sources tell me talks between #Isles and Lubo Visnovsky's agent are very positive.

I'd love to see him back but if they can't get him signed by April 3d then take the best you can get in a trade. He should bring back at least a 2nd round pick or maybe a conditional 1st if he resigns.

You know they are tied for 8th in the East, right? Why would they move a key player when they are battling for the playoffs?

They will know by the April 3rd if they are a contender or a pretender.

why would anyone want to stay an play for those awful Islanders?

I love it....It would be huge if we could keep him...

I bet he really likes it but when he recently brought his family his wife and kids probablly fell in love with LI and that was the icing on the cake....

Come on Lubo, sign that deal...

Islanders have a whole raft of excellent young talent and more they havent even brought up yet.

Plus two guys they literally got for FREE. Grabner, Hickey.

Future is bright for the Islander fans.

Don't forget Nabby, Strait, and even Moulson who was signed as a free agent. Plus more.

From what Vis told the press when he finally joined the team, Wang and Snow kept things friendly and supportive even when he didn't leave the KHL right away. The players were welcoming and the fans really didn't get on his case too badly.

Then just weeks ago, it was reported that a friend of Vis had lost his son in a helicopter accident. Wang/Snow let Vis fly back to Europe for several days.

I think he appreciates that the isles have a tight lockerroom, are more competitive then he expected and Wang/Snow have been supportive.

http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey...ce=twitterfeed

Multiple sources told Newsday that Visnovsky, a free agent after the season, could sign a two-year extension within the next few days. Talks between Islanders general manager Garth Snow and Neil Sheehy, Visnovsky's agent, were termed "very positive" by a source familiar with the conversations, which were initiated by Snow last week and progressed this week.

The sides apparently have agreed on the two-year term.
Two sources told Newsday that contract extension talks between Snow and the agent for captain Mark Streit have been progressing. Streit is believed to be seeking a three-year contract and, like Visnovsky, has expressed a desire to stay with the Islanders rather than be moved as a deadline rental.

Good news. Progress in both cases. It's gonna be a busy weekend for Snow. He also wants to extend the deals for Nabby and Boyes.

I think Snow has been given a lot of unwarranted flak on Hf as a bad gm , seems to take malcontents and gets their attitudes to do a 180. Not near as bad a gm as he is portrayed.

A bit too much, but the isles are far from the cap, so...

Funny how guys like him and Nabokov overreact then re-sign

Vishnovsky has been one of the top offensive dman in the league for a while now, but he never gets any credit it seems.

Good re-signing for the Islanders. Hopefully this mean Wang isn't going to continue to be a cheap *******. On the flip side, the Islanders can **** off. Montreal has a hard enough time against them.
