Marian Gaborik

Instead of making 50 billion (it seems) threads involving the Rangers where everyone is just trying to make a Gaborik deal why don't we just make 1 single thread and combine them all?

Anyways I thought that I should state what the Rangers possibly would be looking for if they dealt Gaborik (don't worry Sharks fan, not involving you, you've been through enough Gaborik offers )

1st + 2nd line/top 4 D + A/B prospect (depending on the player in the deal) for Gaborik.

For instance: Gaborik for 1st + Ellis/Blum + Fisher

I prefer Ryan Ellis but Blum would be a good piece as well.

Rangers gets a great 3rd line C, a really good young D with solid upside and a 1st rounder.

Nashville gets a 40 goalscorer who posesses a great wristshot and high-end speed.

They get a big name they can promote as well. Meaning more PR and merchandise sold = more money to the team and the owners (which is always good). Nashville lacks a scoring touch, Gaborik would help with that.

Gaborik has been playing LW this season which is why his #'s are a bit down IMO. I dunno why Torts put him there when Nash has got LW experience. Gabby has played hockey for 20+ years and has never played LW so it's no wonder as of why he's been struggling this season.

That was just an example of a trade, maybe it's a bad offer. I leave that up to you guys to decide.

Rangers needs are: Top 6 LW, high-end 3rd line C, 1st rounder this year.

agreed one thread is best. Can someone merge all the others?

I would like something around Gaborik, Boyle, Pyatt, Gilroy for Wilson, Gaustad, Ellis, 1st

He seems to be slower this season. So is Richards.

Why?

You are always one of first to post in any Gaborik thread.
I wonder why.

True, but someone should be able to take a flyer on a guy who scored 40+ goals last season, no? He's not signed longterm so if he truly was declining (which he's not) you're not ****ed for years to come.

As I said he has never played LW before, I think that's a huge reason as of why he's struggling.

I just think he's not used to play LW and his confidence is shot as of now. I think he'll bounce back, sooner than later if he gets traded. Richards I dunno... I hope the Rangers don't buy him out. I have a strong feeling he's gonna be good next season. 1 short season shouldn't decide one players future like that. If he sucks next season he should be bought out no doubt.

Richards may be declining, he has absolutely zero confidence now though. Our team is playing so bad, it doesn't help...

Injuries could be just as big of a reason, which is why teams won't take the risk.

Gabby still has wheels. He needs to play RW. NYR is using Nash and Callahan on RW and Gaborik seems lost on LW. Sounds crazy as they are professionals but it seems to be bugging him

Injuries don't just go away, his body has been through a lot and as he gets older, his body will wear down faster.

Where did I ever say anything about his injuries this season? You assumed I was talking about this season. Better comprehension skills would serve you well.

Not very high to you.

We need to preface these comments a bit more.

Gomez wasn't to well thought of when he got traded and he got more than expected.

More recently Douglas Murray was acquired for two 2nd rounders when Sharks fans themselves would have been OK with a 3rd.

Morrow got a 1st rounder back.

Gaborik is a three time, three time, three time 40 goal scoring forward.

Actually, 3 in the last 6 years to be exact. Ine one of those years, he played in just 17 games and scored 13 goals in those 17 games. That is a 60+ goal pace.

He may not hold alot of value to YOU

But I would bet that he holds significant value to other teams.

He has been pretty healthy since joining the Rangers.

Well then you are just dumb. He was talking about this season, just because I added another potential reason, doesn't mean it was based on the same exact time variable as the other poster.

Do you honestly believe Gaborik's body will hold up over time. It is entirely plausible that his body is beginning to wear down after all of his injuries that he has suffered in his career. That is too much of a risk for a GM to give significant assets for.

More potential offers would be nice instead of just bickering back and forth. Haven't seen one single offer from any fan, from any fanbase. Come on it's not like we're trying to trade Scott Gomez

Naaahhh, makes more sense to make up stuff. Gaborik is a sniper doesn't play a physical game and yet his body will break down faster at 31

You have no idea what you are talking about, Gaborik doesn't play a physical game, nice try though, you can move along now.

Playing in 90% of your teams games over the last 3+ seasons would indicate that Injuries are not really an issue.

Well he's had a ton of injuries before and it didn't stop him from scoring often when he came back healthy. So he plays LW for the 1st time in his career and he struggle, coincidence? I think not. Sure it could be the injuries but it's more likely due to the fact his struggling at a new pos. Getting used to it and it's affecting him mentally not putting up goals.
