19-year-old Galchenyuk isn't playing nearly as well as 23-year-old Galchenyuk. The Habs can't fast-forward.

Players that go from the juniors right to the NHL don't usually fair better than Galchenyuk i.e Joe Thornton 7 pts in 55 games in his first NHL year. Galchenyuk seems much more confident out there and he's even starting to bring up his physical game. Don't worry Galchenyuk will eventually be a top 10 forward in the NHL.

He had the best rush of his young NHL career in that first period arguably, hopefully this is the beginning of the turnaround.

Better game, but still would like him to sit a game out when we got some bodies back.

Gally's best game in a while. End of the rookie wall?

Yeah. People really need to know that it wouldn't be a punishment. Played a solid game though for sure.

He's not going to sit out a game. He's more important than most Hab players, so I don't want to see him sit unless he is -1, -2 in 3-4 games in a row...not going to happen since he's solid defensively.

The points will be for later (maybe when he's 21 and over...can we please wait a bit?! I know I can).

Go Galchenyuk Go!! keep it up...doing what you're doing...ignore the doubters and ignore especially the ones who want lots of pts out of you right now...19 yrs young...sheesh!! I'm first of all glad his knee is holding up and that he can put up some points and play solid defense...great for our 3rd line).

Healthy lineup (bold: currently injured):
Bourque-Pleks-Gionta
Pacioretty-DD-Ryder
Galchenyuk-Eller/Prust-Gallagher
Moen-Halpern/White-Armstrong
White

p.s.: ok...I admit...if we have a healthy lineup we have a good logjam problem...but we haven't been full healthy yet, so...he's to some more luck in the healthy department.

At this point, I wouldn't mind seeing Bourque complete the line. Prust could jump in with the boys once in a while.

Pac-DD-Gallagher
Ryder-Plek-Gionta
Bourque-Eller-Galch
Prust-Dumont/White/Blunden/Santa/Halpern-Armstrong

One (obviously positive) sign I've seen from him as of late, is that he seems to be finishing his checks and throwing the body around a bit more.

In his first few weeks as an NHL player, his physical game was almost non existent.

I hope he proves me wrong but I think he should have stayed in Hamilton this year so he could play 20 minutes a game. I don't want him to be good, I want him to be great. For that to happen he needs to learn how to dominate the opposition which is hard to do at the NHL level.

He can't even play in Hamilton. He would've had to play in the OHL or with the Habs.

So Prust - Eller - Chucky in practice today, the thought of that line is intriguing

He was already dominating in the OHL. He had nothing left to learn at that level.

Exactly. It's not like he can't keep up at the NHL level either. He's not only keeping up, he's actually been a big contributer to the Habs' success.

The times I watched him live in the OHL it was a joke. Nearly every time he touched the puck something happened and his teammates just barely passed it to him.

Dumb and pointless for him to be there, he was simply too good for that league.

Yes and they basically made the difference in like 3 games, both against CAR and the game @ NYR.

Galchenyuk has had a solid season. With Prust back I expect him to start putting up points. Points aside though, he plays well in all three zones.
He has had a very successful rookie season.

Not saying it's not an awesome line. Just that intriguing isn't really the word I'd use there.

And don't forget, Galchenyuk is barely a month past his 19th birthday.

Statistically most effective line of the season.
