Saskatoon continues to get absolutely destroyed. P.A. isn't doing too good either.

But at least Faksa scored tonight and Ritchie got a goal and an assist.

Liked Faksa tonight. Probably his best game these playoffs. Was nice on the penalty king too. However he shouldn't have been on the PK that much, because of the 10 powerplays Guelph got, not a single one you would look at and definitely call a penalty.

I really do feel bad for Stransky and Saskatoon. They're down 2-5 at the end of two, and they're about to be down 0-3 in the series. They're going to be sitting on their ***** for like 7 weeks waiting for the Memorial Cup to start.

I think he is the best player for PEI with 16 years old power foward Alexis Pépin after three playoffs games. Vance is even playing sometimes with Jimmy Oligny (the number 1 d-man) which is a good new since they have very good depth on defence with Tomas Pavelka and Alex Micallef. He is better on 5-on-5 than on the special units because he doesn't have great offensive skills. I mean, he is a fluid skater and he has a good first pass but he doesn't have a high-level offensive awareness. Also, he is good on the penalty-kill but probably not enough to be a specialist. Ultimately, I think he is going to be a shut-down defenceman in the AHL. I don't know if he has what it takes to be a legit NHLer, but we'll see next season with the Texas Stars. Anyway, like I said, right now, he is a very solid defender.

Jokipakka's team won again. They're up 3-0, and he played over 26 minutes.

FYI ... he's played the right side most of the year so he's also an option at RD since Dallas has so many lefties.

So at the very least: Daley, Nemeth, Jokipakka, and Oleksiak all can play RD.

Jokerit, the top team in the Finnish league this year, was upset today in the first round in Game 6. Esa Lindell never played in a game for them.

Klingberg played over 20 minutes today in a 3-2 loss. Team is down 0-1 in the 2nd round.

That must mean it's almost time for a momentum-stopping injury.

On the other hand, it looks like Ritchie could be joining Texas fairly soon for their playoff run.

Faksa and Kitchener have an opportunity to advance to the 2nd round tonight.

Ritchie and Niagara will be out of the playoffs if they lose tonight. That means Ritchie would head to Texas next by early or mid next week.

I kinda hope Niagara loses so he can get as much time as possible with the team before the playoffs start.

Surely he would have to go straight to the top 6, right?

HF's top 50 list is a total joke. Oleksiak's probably better than Morrow, and yet guess who made the list...

With the way they're favoring goalies too, and looking at the goalies who made the list, I'm still dumbfounded at how Campbell doesn't make it either. I don't think he's a top 50 prospect, but if Subban is and Vasilevski is a top 30 prospect, Campbell sure as hell is too.

Thats after falling quite a ways from the previous list. Honestly it eeems like 20-75 would be fairly interchangeable on a list like that just depending on how you value safety vs upside or particular skills vs eachother.

Goals in the last 3 games for Faksa:

Josh Brown ‏@BrownRecord

Tobi Rieder with his third point, an assist as Radek Faksa makes it 3-0 Kitchener vs. Guelph in potential series clincher.

Gemel Smith is having a monster game: 2 goals, 2 assists. He has 5 goals and 2 assist in 4 games and 2 periods in the playoffs so far.

Niagara closed the gap to 1 goal. They're down 2-3 in the 2nd intermission.

EDIT: OH yeah .... Gemel Smith should have 6 goals BTW. Refs blew a call and disallowed one of his goals in an earlier game. Would have been his hat trick goal for that game.

Faksa has been impressive tonight. Gemel Smith has been dominating.

Nice to see our Stars prospects in the OHL stepping up.

E: Faksa just missed his second goal by an inch. Murphy fed him the puck wide open in the slot and he fanned on the puck and it went wide.

Ritchie's OHL career is over.

Quote:
Niagara IceDogs ‏@OHLIceDogs

@OHLIceDogs battle hard right until the last second, but can't find the equalizer and fall 3-2 to @Oshawa_Generals and drop the series 4-1.
His first pro game will probably be next weekend.

Kitchener advances to the next round.

Owen Sound takes a 3-2 series lead.
