Yea I agree. Time for them to go on a little win streak.

Looking at their games coming up though it'd be hard to see that happening.

Most other boards are. Either Eastern conference fans trotting out the tired old story about how the Pens D sucks (nobody has checked stats for about a month, I guess) or Western conference fans trying to pretend it doesn't matter how good the Pens/Bruins/Habs/whoever look because ZOMG THE WEST IS BETTAR.

I enjoy it all equally.

some gold from an unnamed western conference team board:

Is this kind of interference acceptable in the east?

Apparently. Seems to explain why scoring is higher. Well that and an entire division of plug teams.

The insecurity of western fans is always good for a laugh.

I love when they deride the Pen's streak and wining %, and chalk it up to playing in the EAST. Then a Pen's fan will cite our record versus the WEST, and it is crickets.

Andrej Sustr is in the lineup for the Lightning tonight versus New Jersey. By the looks of it, they're dressing 7 defensemen (Hedman, Gudas, Sustr, Carle, Salo, Aulie, Brewer). After 1 period, Sustr has 4:08 of ice time.

Lightning ought to put the pads on Sustr and try him in goal. He can't be much worse than either of their current tandem.

If they used a cardboard cutout goalie of Roberto Romano they'd be better off than their current tandem.

Sounds like Philly is losing more D to injuries. I am still hoping Caps, Rangers and Flyers miss the players and miss out on a top 10 pick, but kind of doubt it is feasible at this point.

Brutal giveaway by TJ Brodie to Letestu for a short-handed goal. You have to check the replay on that one.

You're not including Dunc Wilson in that group are you.

I remember my big pro-Fleury argument around the time of that 2003 Draft was based around that fact. I said something along the lines of 'if he's even just league average for five years he'd be the 2nd best goalie in franchise history'. Outside of Barrasso, who always required a solid back-up because of his injuries (he only played 60+ games twice for the Penguins...in 19 years in the NHL he 'only' played 777 games...for comparison's sake Mikka Kiprusoff played 514 in the 7 seasons bridging the lockouts), it's been a revolving door ever since this franchise came into the league.

To shine things in another light - the Florida Panthers have as many goalies with 220+ apperances in net as we do.

Even more frightening - J-S Aubin has the 5th most wins of any Penguins goalie...with 63.
