For all the press LoL gets, I don't know anyone who plays it or follows the pro-scene.

Last vs Life, some pretty awesome games in there. Last had lost over 80 scv's before the 20mark and still had about 20 scv's, in game 5. Makes me feel that much worse about my terran since I rarely get over 50 scv's.

Hey guys, was just wondering: I notice players wearing their headphones, but I also see that they're wearing some ear buds as well. What's that for?

The big earmuff things are for additional noise cancellation.

That MLG was a fantastic source of entertainment. Flash, Innovation, and Life all played incredibly. Can't wait to see Flash in Code S.

After a relatively pedestrian GSL finals, it was nice to see some entertaining SC2 at the pro level. It is a shame that Rain and Parting got rolled by the current top 2 Terrans in the world (for my money), because I was looking for some PvT lessons.

As good as MC is, his play style is more difficult to emulate/learn from due to his reliance on absolutely insane micro.

Just played my placement matches.. went 5-0 but still landed in Platinum.. Doesnt matter though.. I REALLY suck, I've got no macro at all. Gonna need a lot of practice before I'm back in shape

I just played a couple placement matches(0-2 so far). My macro is non-existent. I just freeze, and not produce enough units. Second loss was more infuriating because I knew what the enemy was doing(Reapers make effective scouts), I just didn't build enough units.
But since I've decided I'm gonna be somewhat serious about laddering, I'm gonna work on some mechanics this weekend and get back in it.

Ladder has been very odd to me.

I went 5-0 with ease (lots of newbs...) but ended up in low gold.

Then won 2 games against gold players and got moved to mid-Daimond...

Same thing happened to me in 1v1 and 2v2...

Diamond is such an odd league. If I play anyone whose top 25 I instantly lose. Anyone below 50th I just win.

*shrug*

I know own a computer that can actually play Starcraft 2 on high settings without any difficulty.

Let me just say that the campaign's significantly better when it's not on the lowest settings and still chugging along (as was the case when I played it when it first came out).

So.. how about those Widow Mines.. how to play against them? I absolutely outplayed my opponent but some well placed widowmines shredded my economy and lots of my casters and lings aswell.. they seem to be a bit too good IMO. That said I havnt been following the beta or the pros at all.. how do you play against them?

Detectors and spread out your army. Use ranged units to take them out and take advantage of the fact that they can't really move (until upgraded)

Before moving a huge army through a choke, send one or two Lings.

As much as I enjoy watching the NASL, Lauren Elise is terrible.

Nice post, dat karma/reddit gold.

Also, the 15 year anniversary is coming up for starcraft, they've giving out anniversary portraits if you play the game between now and april 17.

You have to play multiplayer however.

Ha, yeah I didn't think that post was particularly funny/clever/informative/accurate... Big surprise a few hours later. It ended up x-posted to Bestof and r/starcraft...

15 years since the best game of all time was released... man.. I feel so old. I played that game so much, was a top player in Sweden as well. Came in 2nd at Dreamhack 2001. Behind the greatest swedish starcraft player of all time SaFT. I probably played a good 100 games against him and I never came out victorious. He was my poison.
