You may be correct but I think iggy would have gone if asked - I think it was ownership

He does have the most shutouts this season

Everyone involved with the Flames is to blame. They didn't see the writing on the wall.

I wonder if they feel stupid after all their "Flames are too proud to tank!" bravado. They were absolutely insufferable. Couldn't be happier that they're getting a big-time reality check.

Mason is starting for the Jackets. Another backup.

If the Flames don't beat Mason they deserve to be 30th.

Interesting thread on the mainboard about ease of schedules. Backs up what a lot of people were saying about Calgary. Also contradicts some stuff too.

Quote:
The Calgary Flames played 15 games against a tired team, with divisional rivals Edmonton comprising three of those games. Half of the season series pitted the tired Oilers against the rested Flames. Six games featured a team that had played the Oilers the previous night and made the journey to nearby Calgary for the second night of back to back games.

The Oilers on the other hand, won only six of 14 games as a rested team, 11 with the Oilers as the home team. Nine of those games featured a team that played the Flames the previous night

Nothing to play for with that club. I could see the guy wanting a quick ticket out of town.

Jesus in net, and Rinne has been that for years, can't get that team anywhere. Preds are just awful. Getting worse every year. Impossible team to watch.

I'm not surprised Rinne is finally fed up breaking his back there for nothing.

Is it wrong to hope the Flames screw up and win out? It would be hilarious if they didn't draft in topfive.

Not at all. If they finish 9th again I would be happy.

But it's still fun to watch them lose.

Erixon just put the puck in his own net. Flame fans will like that.

Kippers play has fallen off a cliff this year. The back up goalie they claimed doff waivers has been better

Honestly, I think the owners deserve most of the blame. They wouldn't authorize a rebuild years ago when Kipper and Iggy had lots of value, and for this deal they basically told Feaster that Iginla could pick his destination, regardless of the return. Kinda hard to blame Feaster when his hands were tied. He could only get back whatever the Pens were willing to give up because Iginla really only had eyes for Pittsburgh.

The Flames lost to Steve Mason.

Think about that for a second.

That's an ugly contract. 3 goals and 9 assists in 22 games.

Doesn't matter. 36 points remains the number to catch. The Oilers just need to focus on their games.

It's going to be odd not finishing last in the division this year. Not that I mind, but there's little chance either Calgary or Colorado finishes ahead of us this year.

Calgary is 29th in GA. Yikes.

Picturing Iggy in a Pens uni is still ****ed up. That's weird coming from an Oil fan. Oh well. Really looking forward to watching Pittsburgh.
