I was there last night and the building had no energy in it whatsoever. I was like they all knew going in what the final result would be. When Richie scored there was a giant "I knew that was gonna happen" feel to it. There was about a half dozen Kings fans besides me in there cheering. Really quiet. The Kings are in the heads of the entire community
No sweat Baseball season is just around the corner. St. Louis only cares about the Cardinals anyway. You were at the game but when St. Louis scored the tying goal it seemed pretty loud and least though my TV speakers.
Just rewatched the game, and Backes a few seconds before his run at Williams took Scuderi down and gave him a couple shots while he was down. What a solid leader he is.
...and then he beat him to the front of the net and almost got a scoring chance. I was furious at that non-call, since it could have resulted in a goal, and particularly after Trevor Lewis' first "roughing" penalty ever and Clifford's vicious arm-breaking "slash".
But yeah, the more I watch Backes, the more he reminds me of Doan.
