If this guy doesnt go before 20, I hope we make a move. Still doubt he will but heh.

This guy will be drafted by the Leafs, and book it. Nothing worst.

Lazar with a snipe job top corner on his backhand. Wowza.

Why am I even bothering...there's no way this guy doesn't go top 20.

Collberg was supposed to go top 15. Stranger things have happened.

Collberg is a smallish euro forward, though.

Lazar is a jack of all trades who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Look at Samuelsson or Wilson players with thoughness are the only thing people want.

I thought I would do my ideal draft for the Habs.

Pick 25-27: Ryan Hartman(F) or Morgan Klimchuk(F)
Pick 32-34: Jacob De La Rose(F), Pavel Buchnevich(RW) or Mirco Muller(D)
Pick 40-43: Samuel Morin(D) or Jonathan Diaby(D)
Pick 55-57: Justin Bailey(LW) or Emile Poirier(LW)
Pick 76-78: Dillon Heatherington(D) or Eric Roy(D)
Pick 85-87: Phillipe Desrosiers(G), Jordan Subban(D) or Nick Baptiste(RW)
Pick 145-147: Spenser Jensen(D) or Taylor Cammarata(LW)
Pick 175-177: Jordan Maletta(C), L-P. Guindon(G)/A. Bibeau(G)/D. Graham(G)
Pick 205-207: No idea here.

Thoughts?

Hmmm.

I think I would be a bit underwhelmed by Bailey or Poirier with the CGY pick. I would gamble that 1 of them will be there with the NSH pick and that 1 of the big Q D's will be available late in round 2.

I'd be shocked if DLR is available late in round 2. Honestly, I'd probably take DLR ahead of Bailey.

I also would like a bit more pure skill up front. You went with a lot of 2-way types.

Agreed on De La Rose... I like players that are difficult to play against and he's one of those. Always active in the play and uses his big body well.

I'd take De La Rose with a late first, if he's available with a late 2nd that's larceny.

As strong as this draft is, there isnt all that much pure skill. I think this is a great draft for Montreal to take big guys(powerforward types) like Bailey and Maletta late.

I changed something up. De La Rose early 2nd and Bailey late.

Wont be a 1st. Would also take him early but I have a feeling he might be there later.

Exactly, plus, there seems to be like 30 guys slotted to be in the top 20 this year when we read the forums

Total crapshot call for 205-207 : Éric Brassard (if we don't draft two goalies before him).

If we take a goalie late I want Charlie Graham (15-5-4, 2.59 GAA, .922 SV%).

What'd you guys think the chances of us getting zykov are? I'd love the kid saw him play a lot an I feel he would fill a hole I see in the future top line

Overrated. I mean, he's better than Émile Poirier, which might be the closest comparable.

But I don't see a 40-spots gap between them.

Basically, if he isn't there when we're up to pick, that means were either went in the final-4, or that somebody picked him up too early.

Love the Heatherington pick. He's a rock defensively, a good skater, and 6'4. I also love the Baptiste pick. He took it to another level the second half of the season and has been unbelievable in the playoffs.

Not sure about the Bailey pick though. He's big, but he's closer to a perimeter player than a powerforward. He's skilled and fills the need of being tall, but he doesn't bring any sandpaper or physicality to the table.

Outside of the first three games of this season, Maletta's done nothing to warrant being drafted. I really liked him in his rookie season, but he's struggled mightily this year. I wouldn't mind taking him with a 7th, but I'd be fairly surprised if his name was called on draft day.

He's the backup to Malcolm Subban in Belleville.

Incredibly athletic and has been very solid this season. Has taken over for a few weeks with Subban either injured or at WJC and has not looked out of place whatsoever.

Im not too familiar with the guys that would be going in the 6th and 7th rounds except for the goalies i mentionned. I remember hearing that Maletta had good upside. I guess raw potential.

Im not that high on Bailey or Poirier to be honest but both have the potential if developped properly. I think Heatherington is the most underrated player in this draft. Incredibely solid.

I'd prefer Horvat with the 1st but if we could get De La Rose, Heatherington and Subban with our 2nds I'd be happy with our draft day. I think Subban and Heatherington will be picked in the 2nd round, certainly they'll most likely be gone by the time our 3rd round pick rolls around.

I'd like to get Mads Eller with a later round pick, just for kicks.

Nice List. Here's my choice with the same pattern.

Pick 25-27: Max Domi (F) or Nic Petan (F)
Pick 32-34: Nic Petan (F), Jacob De La Rose (F) or Anthony Duclair (F)
Pick 40-43: Samuel Morin (D) or William Carrier (LW)
Pick 55-57: Jordan Subban (D) or Emile Poirier (LW)
Pick 76-78: Émile Poirier (LW) or Eric Roy (D)
Pick 85-87: Micheal Downing (D) or Ross Olsson (F)
Pick 145-147: Taylor Cammarrata (F)

Zykov is clearly a top 20 talent. Why do you think he's over rated?

Morin will go early to late third IMO. No need to rush it, many better players will fall to the second.
