Leaf fan coming in peace. I'd love to play you guys in the playoffs, I've wanted a Leafs-Habs playoff series since I was a kid, the atmosphere and intensity not only between the players but with the fan bases would be amazing. Ohh just the thought of it is bringing a smile to my face. Although I agree with some on here, the loser is going to have a longgggg summer. A lot of chirping with fellow fans will follow.

Habs are not little girls that need tender love and care. Jeez. They're an NHL team. Let them learn to deal with the pressure. It's not going to change the next 5 years in our cup window.

Im sure not overconfident facing any of those teams.. But if I had to pick one, I think I would rather face the Sens.. Hopefully we win the division and face NJ or New York in the first round..

From habs perspective:

1-2
0-6
5-2

In first 3 meetings. 6-0 is a bad loss but 5-2 isn't something you would be too happy about either from leafs perspective.

Always tough game vs the leafs but still 2 games in season series, leafs may end up 4-0 or 2-3. You don't know yet.

I don't know how old you are, but remember 1993? When the Habs beat the Nordiques, who were arguably bigger rivals than Toronto, after trailing 0-2 in the series... Best ****ing feeling, and I was only in elementary school.

Same for beating Boston like 3 times in the past decade. Great feeling.

This is why I'd want to face the Leafs.

Leafs easily.

Sens might be a good team with Spezza coming back.

Leafs will get worse as the season goes on.

Might be? They're already really good. They're a big team, built for the playoffs. I want nothing to do with them.

I'll take Ottawa in the first round, Toronto in the second, and then the bruins.

Could that happen?

The Leafs might be easier to beat, but they will also goon it up and I'm afraid the Habs would begin the 2nd round with a few injuries.

But in both cases, I'd be happy. It's time to create some rivalries with those teams. (because even the one VS the Leafs is not very strong anymore on the ice since a few years, but it's a natural rivalry between both fanbases).

That would be awesome. And we could finish it against our future division rival, the Detroit Red Wings! Or another original 6 team, the Hawks!

That's what I think. I'd love Boston and TO to play each other in the first round and then face the winner. Let them goon each other to death.

The best would be if we won the cup this way though:

Round One: Beat Leafs
Round Two: Beat Bruins
Round Three: Beat Pens
Cup: Beat Chicago

It wouldn't get any better than that.

I voted Leafs... But really I don't know.

The sens have not only very skilled players, but they have imo, the best coaching staff. They'll be getting some of their key players back before the playoffs start, so that will add to their success. However, the sens are stillvery much alive and well into a playoff berth after having something like 3 r 4 of their top 5 players out. While that is thanks to good players, most of that is due to coaching. There are great teams in league right now. But what the sens are pulling off is incredible. Them having a near full and healthy line up is scary.

The Leafs on the other hand, they have the scoring to potentially win. Not sure about their D. One thing's for sure, they'll grind us down. Which is what annoys me the most. They'll probably injure and weaken our roster. Though, it's been a long time since we've faced them in the playoffs. Would be great for the rivalry.

I kind of like how things are ranked right now. We'd be facing NJ. Brodeur, ****ing Brodeur. He always plays great against us. And we'd have to excel against them. But how great would that be? To finish Brodeur's career with us finally taking him out when it matters.

From a purely habs fan perspective I trust the Sens more to not goon it up, and would rather face the leafs in a later round IF we have to. But from a perspective of being a sens fan who worked for the habs and now cheers for both pretty much evenly, a playoff series between the my two favourite teams would be absolute torture.

Can we just loose a couple of games and finish 6th and face Winnipeg instead????

Seriously......Leafs are big and bad....Sens are good everywhere.

I wouldn'T want the Sens if they got home-ice advantage. Chances is that if we face Toronto, we will probably have home-ice advantage. So i'll go with Leafs.

Ottawa would take the Habs and it would suck. They are the only team in the conference I'd like to avoid, anybody but them.

Haha, I forgot that meaningless regular season game even happened and was trying to to figure out what that post meant. Too funny what people cling to.

Doesn't matter really, I'll be happy with anyone come postseason.

But the fan in me wants so badly to see Toronto-Montreal. The series would be epic.

Outside of Pittsburgh and Boston, there is no team I would rather NOT face in the first round than the Sens.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the Leafs.
I do not want the Leafs. They will physically kill us, and Kadri-Lupul line scares me. No, let them play Boston in the 1st round instead. I want the Rangers.
