Some dumb penalties, but he's a team low -7. He's playing with grit, but I don't think that it's making any difference...his grit doesn't change the flow of the game or the chances on his shifts. Kinda like Lapointe lite...fun to watch, but it's not going to make you win.
I think Green does make a difference. He wins important face-offs in D zone. He is pretty decent on PK. He took some ill advised penalties in the beginning of the season...but lately I can't remember any of penalties from him.
I heard he is a good playoff player so I guess we will find out later.(If we make it to the postseason)
as a 4th liner with PK, faceoff, and occasion PP time, he's an invaluable asset. as a good friend of the coach, 2nd or 3rd line winger, he . . . he brings very very little and along with mccarthy, they are collosal disappointments thus far.
i'll go so far as to say when he was elevated to 2nd line duty from the 4th line - the team went into a steady decline and we haven't had coesive lines since. injuries have played a part.
