There goes Wisconsin. Helleybuck is a great goalie prospect, kudos to the Jets they have also Kasdorf and Phillips as very sharp goalie finds in Jr.A leagues.

I swear I just turned on the game for my first live look at Kristo and within 30 seconds he scores on a nice wrap around.

Kristo with GWG in a 2-1 win against Niagara.
So they will face Yale (who won against Minnesota) tomorrow.

Normally we would have expected Minny to win but Yale bet the odds.

Kristo is 22, arguably the best player in the NCAA. He has played four full seasons at a university known for its development of players for pro hockey. Habs should sign him once the tournament is done and bring him straight to Montreal to see how ready he is. He is 22, not 18. He might be ready!

I want to see him tomorrow, but I am leaning towards thinking this too. He can help us, especially if Bourque is not coming back.

Habs don't have a lot of the dynamic speed+hands+shot combo Kristo has on the wing.

I think he could have a Kreider-like impact for us in the playoffs if we bring him in right away.

Lets play a game called THE COLLEGE HOCKEY TEAM.

The goal is to build an awesome-tastic roster full of players who graduated from the NCAA!

Lets take a look at the teams:

TEAM 1

Zach Parise - Jonathan Toews - Martin St. Louis
Thomas Vanek - Joe Pavelski - Patrick Sharp
Max Pacioretty - Ryan Kesler - Phil Kessel
Chris Kunitz - T.J. Oshie - David Backes

Ryan McDonagh - Ryan Suter
Dan Boyle - Paul Martin
Kevin Bieksa - Kevin Shattenkirk

Jonathan Quick
Ryan Miller

TEAM 2

Dany Heatley - Derek Stepan - Blake Wheeler
Matt Read - Paul Stastny - Michael Cammalleri
James VanRiemsdyk - Travis Zajac - Brian Gionta
Viktor Stalberg - Colin Wilson - Kyle Okposo

Nick Leddy - Jack Johnson
Matt Niskanen - Erik Johnson
Alex Goligoski - Justin Faulk

Cory Schneider
Jimmy Howard

TEAM 3

Carl Hagelin - Kyle Turris - Drew Stafford
Mike Knuble - Tyler Bozak - Teddy Purcell
Chris Higgins - Shawn Horcoff - Matt Frattin
Ryan Malone - Matt Cullen - David Booth

Joe Corvo - Andy Greene
Justin Schultz - Jeff Petry
Ryan Whitney - Patrick Wiercioch

Tim Thomas
Ben Bishop

HM:
Ron Hainsey
Nathan Gerbe
Chris Kreider

That is not even including Duncan Keith who played a year and a half in the CCHA before going to the WHL for the second half of a season.

So in other words, the NCAA is an excellent way for a player to get prepared for the NHL. Looking forward to seeing Kristo hit that plateau one day.

Top notch trucking of a skewed opinion, if I do say so myself.

Kudos.

Team 1 would probably be a serious contender for the cup.
You have four lines of top-6, three duo of top-2 and two top-goalies...

In the last 10 years, NCAA has grown as a league that provides more and more players.
It also allows team to wait till the player matures before bringing them in Pro.

You wasted your time bro. He meant a Collage player not a College hockey player.

I think this poster might have meant something slightly different.
Like college players not having an impact in their first few games, at
this time of year. That is more lkiely.

Although if anyone remembers Chelios goining the habs after the 1984
Winter Olympics, he certainly had an impact.

Rookie maximum, three year contract, that is all.
There are more options for Kristo in this situation, than in any other
NHL negotiation, so we'll see what happens. The only option he doesn't
have anymore is the "Justin Schultz" opt-out.
