Who of them is the worse GM? It's McPhee for me as the worst GM for the last 15 years. He was lucky to draft a generational talent but he couldn't build a championship team. Last three years he has been actively ruining the caps franchise. His moves look like a gambling, not thought-out actions.
While Feaster and to some extent Tambellini isn't exactly setting the world on fire, McPhee actually had the pieces to make it. Somehow he screwed it all up and got carried away because of that loss against Mtrl. Caps look pretty bad and aren't near being a contender.
Tambellini. While Feaster has been only been screwing up badly recently, aside from not starting the rebuild earlier. Tambo has been screwing up for years with so much talent and nothing to show for it. Won't trade for the help they need, can't sign it, and can improve the team through tanking. The Oilers are poorly assembled team that will remain as such until Tambo is gone.
I understand where you're coming from with McPhee. I mean he did have this monster in Ovechkin fall right into his lap.
But I think McPhee's 6 division titles, President's trophy, franchise record for points, and Prince of Wales Trophy kind of upset the apple cart here.
Yeah, McPhee doesn't deserve to be on this list IMO. Things went south in Washington after that Montreal series when they tried to change the identity of the team, and Green had a lot of injuries. They still had a lot of success as team under his leadership.
Feaster is going to get a lot of votes because of the recent events with ROR and Iginla, but I voted Tambo. He's stockpiling elite talent through the draft like Chicago and Pittsburgh did, but so far has been completely unable to translate that into success.
