McPhee vs. Feaster vs. Tambellini

Who of them is the worse GM? It's McPhee for me as the worst GM for the last 15 years. He was lucky to draft a generational talent but he couldn't build a championship team. Last three years he has been actively ruining the caps franchise. His moves look like a gambling, not thought-out actions.

Tamby needs to figure out how to make trades happen.

McPhee has been alright, but unspectacular. The diminishment of OV is a concern.

Feaster's won a cup. In Tampa. It will be awhile before Cgy does anything.

So i guess Tamby. He's had his team tank lots. But where are the character guys? His team is too one-dimensional and those guys can't all get decent icetime.

While Feaster and to some extent Tambellini isn't exactly setting the world on fire, McPhee actually had the pieces to make it. Somehow he screwed it all up and got carried away because of that loss against Mtrl. Caps look pretty bad and aren't near being a contender.

Tambellini. His best moves/aquisitions are the product of utter failure.

Tambo. To fail is one thing, to fail with a big smile on your face is another.

Tambellini because his teams have done jack ****, and his biggest accomplishments have been making the easiest picks of the draft.

Tambellini. While Feaster has been only been screwing up badly recently, aside from not starting the rebuild earlier. Tambo has been screwing up for years with so much talent and nothing to show for it. Won't trade for the help they need, can't sign it, and can improve the team through tanking. The Oilers are poorly assembled team that will remain as such until Tambo is gone.

Tambo doesn't do anything good but he doesn't really do anything terrible either.

Feaster has done some idiotic things

Feaster has been brutal, but Tambellini wins this one. His best moves as a GM have come from literally being the worst team in the league. This year they're barely out of the lottery.

He's done little to nothing to improve his team. Every year he banks it on a young core performing well and every year he's wrong. Rinse and repeat.

Tambellin's team has finished last, last, and second to last over the past 3 years.

Only an incompetent GM could produce those results.

Feaster did not build that team, but he sure as hell trashed that team after!

Feaster is the worst GM in the NHL... and is in the running with Doug Risebrough for worst GM ever!

I understand where you're coming from with McPhee. I mean he did have this monster in Ovechkin fall right into his lap.

But I think McPhee's 6 division titles, President's trophy, franchise record for points, and Prince of Wales Trophy kind of upset the apple cart here.

Yeah, McPhee doesn't deserve to be on this list IMO. Things went south in Washington after that Montreal series when they tried to change the identity of the team, and Green had a lot of injuries. They still had a lot of success as team under his leadership.

Feaster is going to get a lot of votes because of the recent events with ROR and Iginla, but I voted Tambo. He's stockpiling elite talent through the draft like Chicago and Pittsburgh did, but so far has been completely unable to translate that into success.

If you're going to blame McPhee, blame him for taking a holiday up until the trade deadline. Blame him for lack of consistency in keeping the roster full for a Stanley Cup run.

McPhee would go under the top 5 worst GMs but he's not worse than Tamb or Feaster.

McPhee has one of the best records in the draft since 04, but that's not what being a GM is all about.

This has more to do with Caps pretty good scouting staff than with McPhee.
