I know it's a highly unlikely scenario but with Ricky playing well in the Bridge (no I don't think that will necessarily translate into good NHL numbers) could the Islanders reach a point where they wait too long to bring him back up and he is playing so well somebody actually claims him off reentry waivers? I know that would be a Godsend to many on here. I doubt anybody will pick up his salary, but I've seen crazier things in the NHL and a lot coming from the Isles.

As an obvious DP supporter, but still a realist, I don't think i'd bee too disappointed if he was picked up by another team and the change in scenery may do him well. Anyway, a low chance of it happening, but he will be subject to reentry waivers if he ever gets called up again...

I think they got rid of re-entry waivers, but even if they didn't nobody is going to pay Dipietro 2.25M for 8 more seasons

Not only do Ben and Sean (AKA Rosenbedo) give each other eskimo kisses but they sleep over each other’s houses, have every class together, know each other’s favorite snacks, and watch “The Office” together every Thursday. The list is endless.
So, are we excited about this guy on the team? I'm sure Ziggy and gutless puke would approve.

Good lord this team took a nosedive this season. Things were looking so great a couple months ago.

You gotta believe DP will be back up this season. Poulin isnt the answer.

I definitely think so. His size is an obvious asset, but I think he's got the hockey sense to excel at center. Nothing about his game screams out at you, but he is just solid in all areas. He could be a real asset for the Isles at the center position.

I think several things scream out at me about Nelson. First is his hands, excellent hands, also his size, he certainly uses it to his advantage. Though not super fast, he's a smooth and somewhat elusive skater. Last, but certainly not least, his hockey IQ, it's off the charts, he seems to do everything right instinctively, he's at the right place at the right time.

One thing I really like about Nelson is, no matter what league, there seems to be a short adjustment time, and then he just gets it, and starts producing. I really think after a short adjustment period in the NHL, he will figure it out, and be a productive NHL player for years. By productive, I mean above average NHL forward, probably average around 60 points a year with a ceiling of 70+ points. I really think that highly of Nelson. And he's done nothing up to this point to make me think otherwise.
