NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

I donít know what to say. I have a few thoughts but I donít think itís going to help our group right now.
Bottom line is, itís not good enough and weíre not going to make it if. We need everybody right now.
- Henrik Lundqvist

Just plain and simple we werenít good enough. They come out, they keep it simple.
They donít make too many defensive mistakes. They score on their opportunities. And we didnít.
- Rick Nash

After playing the way we did in Philly and just not generating any offense until the third period (tonight). At this time of year, thatís why you lose.
Itís not good enough. Thatís why you lose. Youíre not gonna win any games by not scoring any goals or generating offense.
- John Tortorella

In before PGT gets locked.

So, how about we end this losing streak in Montreal?

Still can't get over Gaborik being on the 4th line, that SHOULD be Richards.

I'm sensing a massacre tonight. 8-1 Habs. Rangers break Carey Price's shutout streak in nothing time after the Habs have a solid 5 or 6 goal lead.

As another poster stated in the pre-game talk thread, I wish Asham was playing. I think he would be valuable tonight.

This is so weird. I've already got a loss penciled in in my head but part of me thinks that they're going to win tonight. I can't give you a reason why but I just do. Oh well, still expecting a loss so anything more than that is a bonus.

Yes, let's scratch Asham and Powe in favor of Pyatt and Boyle. Awesome! Brilliant!

I agree, the Rangers are too soft. I believe some grit or a fight will create some momentum, and they all play better.

I was hoping for Asham so he could sit Eller down, one way or another. That guy was getting away with a lot of stuff in that awful 3-0 loss

Curious as to why Pyatt is playing over Asham/Powe. Gaborik on the 4th line? Torts must be trying to get fired a la George Costanza. Easily the most mis-managed roster in the league.

boyles excess of jam balances with pyatts total lack of jam. powe and asham way too much jam. powe with boyle way too much jam. asham with boyle again too much of that jam. boyle with pyatt gives this team just the right amount of jam.

How Miller or Boyle are playing on a line higher than Marian god damn Gaborik is mind boggling. Slumps aside, neither of them do anything on offense. How is gaborik ever going to come out of his slump playing with Newbury and Pyatt?

God damnit. Either make the second line Kreider-Richards-Gaborik and slot Zuccs down to the third with Miller and Cally or move Zuccs to the left on the second line and make it Zuccarello-Richards-Gaborik and the third line Kreider-Miller-Cally. Slot Boyle down to the 4th line.

Any of those are better than Gaborik on the 4th line.

Torts comes out for the game wearing Messier's jersey from Game 7 '94 and he's eating buffalo wings, wiping his hands all over the jersey.
