Then Snow wouldn't do it, so it's not much better, unless Snow actually has an half-brain instead of a brain.

Which means... that this is actually possible.

Besides that someone else already pointed out we can only save $900k by demoting Kabs, I think it is odd to think we are targeting Bouwmeester, when Beaulieu, who has a similar style, will be playing his first tryout game yet tonight as part of a well-conceived plan.

If Tavares was included it's a totally different story.

Then it actually might be worth it. I can't see Wang being that crazy though... wait a minute it's Charles Wang what am I saying? Nevermind...

Its still a hell of a lot of money. I could see the Leafs doing this before we would. So many deep pockets there.

The team believes Diaz is going to have a setback and may miss the rest of the season. Kaberle on waviers could spark a trade for a puck moving. The best one available is Jay Bouwmeester. We know Calgary is tanking after the Iggy trade. Wouldnt surprise me.

If there is no accompanying move in the next few days, a bit of a headscratcher. I assume something is up.

Thanks Tomas. You still have something left in the tank. Good luck!

Getting Tavares by taking Dipietro

Pacioretty Tavares Ryder (good luck trying to stop this line)
DDH Plekanec Gionta (Small but defensively aware and skill)
Galchenyuck Eller Gallagher (young and hungry)
Moen Halpern Prust (shut down line with ability to score occasionally)

When Bourque comes back we have a problem

With Tavares Habs could give up some picks or farm prospects to get a tough Dman to fill that 6th spot.

I think Subban would want to be paid higher than JBo.
I can imagine adding such a player too, at much lower salary!!

Markov-Emelin
Gorges-Subban
Beaulieu-Bouillon
...Diaz

Maybe another GM hinted they'd take him on waivers???

Pittsburgh might do it. They just lost another PMD. Kaberle might perform well feeding all those skilled Pen forwards.

Guys forget about those crazy scenarios of getting Tavares if we take DiPietro. This is completely far fetched and not going to happen.

as for Kaberle on waivers , i do think this is a pre-move to a trade for a D before the deadline. Don't quote me on this but im pretty sure MB is going to trade for someone in the next few days.

They would have no chance to. If the Isles would even consider this,
there would be a line-up of teams that would do it with-out getting the
Isles 1st pick. Some would probably send their 1st to the Isles, if that let
them "buy" Travares for 21 million.

If you don't believe me, analyze what teams wind up paying in front
loaded contracts for free agents. I'm thinking of the Kovalchuk type
contract. But there are enough other examples to show where the
market is.

We don't need a puck mover, we need a crease clearer

Won't happen but man it's fun to dream. Tavares as our number one with Galchenyuk on the way up, plus Price, PK and Max...

We'd contend for years and years...

I haven't thought about the idea of trading for JBouwmeester. But thinking about it, it would give us a hell of a top 4 defense with Markov-Bouwmeester Subban-Gorges. Would probably give us the best D-core between BOS PIT and us no?

I know he does cost a lot (+ crappy contract) and is overated but he would be a nice upgrade.

Get real. Molson ain't paying 20M$ for ONE draft pick. That's beyond ridiculous.

Just to be in the realm of something remotely interesting, the Isle would have to give 4-5 or more high draft picks in the next few years. Even then, if I'm Molson, not sure I bite. That's a lot of money for ifs.

Some people here value draft picks way too much. A 1st is NOT worth 20M$... especially when we don't even know the exact rank AND there's no Crosby in said draft. :

EDIT: yeah, the Isles adding Tavares makes a little more sense... but will never happen.

Exactly. That's crazy.

If Wang seriously offered us Tavares + DiPietro for Kaberle + 1st... I'd be doing it a heartbeat, and so would Molson.

He'd make at least half of investment back in jersey sales within a year or two.

Pacioretty - Tavares - Gallagher
Ryder - Plekanec - Bourque
Desharhanis - Galchenyuk - Eller

However, that is completely unrealistic and would never happen, so its a waste of time even discussing it, lol.

If I'm Geoff Molson, and can add Jonathan Drouin to my lineup by this move (it's not everyday that there's québecois in the Top-5, let alone the Top-3 and the Top-1 forward)... Well, it's a "pensez-y bien".

But I concur that, for a 12th pick, it makes no sense for Molson.

You know what, I would'nt mind getting 4 million in salary for sitting in the press box either.
