The acquisitions of Morrow, Iginla, and Murray mirror those of Kunitz and Guerin for that very reason. Kunitz and Guerin were brought in to add some veteran experience, yes. But, they also added some grit. Also added Adams that year over the waiver wire.

Did anyone else like Kennedy's game today? And Glass?

Is my brain wrong, or have the Pens given up 1 goal in the last 5 games?
The Pens have given up 1 goal in the last 5 games . . .

. . . but your brain is wrong.

I'm on my phone, that should have said nothing, not boing. Fat fingers, I guess. I hate sports.

First pens game ive watched in a while. Iggy's not used to playing with such skilled players, haha neal and malkin were flying out there. Good win.

I think it took about 30 minutes for Iggy to find his legs (which is understandable) and to figure out Geno (which is understandable, both in its own right and given what Iggy has played with for the last 16 years).

I am really loving Morrow and Murray. Living in Dallas (catching a lot of Stars), this is NOT the Morrow I've seen the last two years. The trade definitely has given him a huge spark. Hope it holds. As for Murray, that guy is just a ******* animal . . . our Hal Gill, with a little less reach and a whole lot more nastiness.

Yeah, but I thought Nisky had a much rougher game. It happens. Not sure Engo was much better, although having the puck on his stick distracted me from the panic attacks of seeing the puck on Murray's stick.

EDIT: I don't like the idea of Despres not playing, but today we saw why Eaton will start over Despres in the playoffs.

+ Boston losing
- Iginla being given 3rd star just because.
+ Cooke
+ PK
- orpik's bonehead penalties

I consider the win streak to be at ~11 because of what would have been a tie back in the days of the 17 game win streak. 15 game lossless streak is nice though.

+ Guys really stepped it up in the absence of Sid & Kunitz. Matt Cooke was possessed and it was a nice faceoff win for Tk.
+Beauty of a PK
+ Vokoun was picking up wins before, but he looks much more composed and smoother now than he did then.

-I woke up late
+I still saw all the goals
+I missed Crosby's injury

+I'm superstitious so I've been wearing the same nail polish throughout this streak.
-Wearing the same nail polish for a month is a real pain

Heard Bailey should be fine for the Isles so that's good news, never like seeing anyone go down. Hopefully Crosby isn't too bad, just have to get through the rumours that people will start up about his condition.

When even Neal and Malkin are getting into that act, you just have to sit there and smile.

BUT, if this is how Cooke and Glass are going to do it the rest of the way, then this team isn't just going to outscore opponents. They're going to beat them up along the way.

+++Cooke, amazing game from him and a much deserved goal.

As far as the Kunitz call goes, it wouldn't piss me off by itself, but it really bothers me after the two non-calls when Dupuis has been drilled right in the numbers. The Pens can't buy a boarding call unless it's against them.

Murray was awesome today. He has such good positioning and wins puck battles against 2 guys in the corner damn near every time.

Also, I know Errey mentioned it, but I have to give props to Tanner Glass today. We all ***** about him and rightly so, but this was his best game as a Pen. He actually generated a few chances and the puck didn't look like a grenade on his stick. Solid game for Glass. I'd still prefer Vitale in the lineup, but if Glass plays like this, then I won't complain.

-Refs on the Kunitz penalty. That was total bull****. You can't take violence out of hockey. I get that it's a "dangerous" part of the ice, but you can't penalize a guy for playing hard and a shoulder hit. Some of the responsibility has to be on the defending player to put himself in a better position.

good overall effort, I will just mention Morrow, I watched him closely, I am so happy now with his pick up, he is just so solid, he must play with Neal and Geno, move Dupper to the third, and Iggy to the first.
Nisky had two bad plays, but he had solid game
DB please don't ever ever again keep Iggy off the first PP unit, proved nothing
If Morrow can keep this up, then I won't disagree.

As for DB keeping Iggy off the 1st PP unit . . . ugh

OMG, just find out that NEXT game with BUF would be the LAST game with the alternate jersey: http://penguins.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=56563

+ Shelly Anderson's recap on the PG says Crosby's issues are probably dental, and the PG is loathe to make **** up like the Trib. Good news if true.

It is believed Crosby's issues are dental, but there was no further information available.

Part of it is that he shields the puck with his body so well. No one is going to push him off the puck from behind once he gets his body in there.
