Another plus : 24 regulation wins so far !
Second place is Chicago, Boston and Anaheim with 17.

Yeah I was pretty pissed about that, but Iggy hasn't practiced with the team yet so it's fine. If Duper is on the 1st unit over him on Tuesday then I'll be concerned.

I think it caught Iginla off guard in the third period when he had the puck and the rest of the team was actually making space for him.

Btw, the islanders look like a playoff team, certainly better than the other team from ny.

Yeah, it looks like it took him about half the game to figure it out, but once he did . . .

There was one play in the first, where Iggy danced a little with the puck before entering the offensive zone. Seen him do it a thousand times waiting for his linemates to catch up . . . except Malkin was already busting up looking for a saucer pass instead of the dance. BUT, by the third, those three were looking really good together (frankly, a lot like Morrow with Malkin and Neal the previous game).

Sorry about that EOTL.
I hadn't checked that twitter account.

Really hope it's just the missing teeth and cuts.

+This team is killing 5-on-3s now, which were like death to this team early in the season.

oral surgery takes on average a week to heal, and no physical activity for 2-3 days, we'd be lucky to have him on tuesday

That one shift which ended in grabner's breakaway those three looked very good. I got chills thinking about that line doing their thing, and sid's line doing theirs.

He is going to be SO MUCH fun to watch once he gets a feel for everyone. Everyone caught a glimpse of that today. I'm sure that it's new territory (in terms of how he plays) for him to realize he doesn't have to carry his line. Whether with Malkin now or likely Sid later, he can just come along and enjoy the ride.

Screw 5 on 3's. 5 on 4's were like death to this team early in the season.

I'm just getting chills period, because we NOW have options, especially if Morrow keeps up this 2011 form.

+No Crosby, Kunitz, Letang, Martin, or Fleury? No problem!
+Vokoun
+PK--that was unreal, and after the Pens killed it, I knew for sure we were going to win

As far as win streaks and stuff go: the current rules have over time and shootouts and based on the current rules, the Pens winning streak is at 15. So I consider their winning streak to be 15 games. If you want to use past rules to define current activities, please get goalies out of their equipment, get rid of 2-line passes, send half of the players across the pond, and start smoking in the dressing room.

If they had played like this earlier in the year instead of playing like poop, they'd probably be above the devils right now. But they are playing like a team with pride now, playing for each other. That would be an epic (history not withstanding) first round matchup for the pens.

+ Cooke! Wow, he played so well!
+ Vokoun, he was just amazing.
+ March of the Penguins: 15-0-0. Unbelievable!
+ 15 in a row, of course!
+ Defense.
+ Duper, Iggy, Geno and Neal.
+ Penalty kill was awesome!

- Nothing

16 is better than 15!

LGP!

Agreed. The games of '93 when the Pens set the record have very little resemblance to this game. Watch Corey Hirsch try to play goalie against Lemieux, Jagr, Francis, et al. in that record setting game. The game is different, the rules are different.

Yeah... I like a skank as much as the next guy but there's a reason King Henke complained to the league about bimbo's skating around his crease. They wear next to nothing, some look way to young and seem to always be picking their wedgies. Lets just say that when you go to an Isles game the face painters paint tear drops right at the corner of the eye and goal netting on their elbows.

+ Cookie... Insane game and its good to see him in playoff mode.

+ Vee... Always square to the puck and another shut out.

+ Murray... Great around the net and doesn't look slow at all.

- Niskanen... Forcing plays and trying some dumb stuff.

- Neal... Happy he scored the goal so he can get some good mojo going but he was overpassing and seems to be in bad ice most of the game.

- I was hoping for a beat them down, killer instinct game but I guess its hard to play an afternoon game against a team thats hard to get up for. Mercy is a playoff weakness IMO and needs to be corrected.
