Hate seeing him mentioned in trade proposal threads or "small center" posts...you can never have enough two-way leaders on a team, and when is last time this guy has fallen in a puck battle? He doesn't hit often or play a physical game, but he sure ask heck doesn't get pushed around or fall. Plus he plays the toughest minutes and is our best offensive forward this season on top of that.

After Saku left he immediately became my favorite player on the team. The guy gets crapped on so much (often by the french media) but he really is one of the most important pieces of the team.

I was dancing around my house when he signed the 6yr extension.

I really can't recall the last time he got crapped upon.

Hard to believe but he's already half-way through that contract. He only has 3 more years left. He's earned every penny. You don't hear anyone harp about that contract or that he's over paid.

The guy is always healthy too, which is a big bonus.

One of the most underrated things about Plek, this is huge. It's great o have a few players who crash into anything that moves, but Plekanec does something just as important - plays 20 minutes every night and still managing to outskate the competition. He will go through spells where he plays tired, but he doesn't miss games.

Too bad we'll never see Pleks and Jagr together on the Habs. What a dream pair that would've been.

I'd love to see Jagr to Montreal on Wednesday. Could probably pick him up pretty cheap, and adding a guy like that would be a huge boon to our scoring depth and experience.

I'd be heartbroken if he ever got traded, as someone's already mentioned, I hope he retires a hab.

Plekanec has played well this season. Waiting to see if he can finally do something in the playoffs.

You can't even compliment the guy without taking a backhanded shot at him.

He has 29 points in 47 playoff games. Thats not bad at all considering he is used primarily as a shutdown player who lines up against the oppsitions top line. He has proven he can play against the best players in the game and do a good job at keeping them off the board as much as possible (guys like Crosby and Ovy when he was playing better).

Actually his point per game rate in the playoffs is only slightly lower than in the regular season. And that's in a defense-first role against better competition than you face in the regular season.

So no, he's not a playoff underperformer even by the most superficial standards. But that doesn't fit an agenda well enough I suppose.

So making Crosby completely irrelevant in 2010 isn't "doing something"?
