Thanks for noticing how good Hansen is. Outside of Vancouver the guy gets no credit.

It would have to be a package deal I think..

Hansen
Ballard

for

Eller
Thrower (or Danny Kristo, but I know that would make Habs fans sad)

Even then I'd

Honey Badger must never leave Vancouver.

Didn't say you would. I wouldn't want Vancouver to trade him for a downgrade (unless it was to MTL) since they're my second favourite team. Similar feelings on Eller as a Habs fan.

Honestly, as a fan of both teams, I think they are interchangeable. I think Eller holds a wee-bit more value due to age and being a center, but they really are the same player and I love them both.

I always give him credit. One of the best all-around players in the NHL. Love him.

3rd liners rarely do unless they are centers for some reason...

haha there was a thread not too long ago on this exact situation, and it sounds very similar. Honestly it would have to be a deal around Eller, which I understand you guys wouldn't probably accept

Agreed 100% with HawkeyeCB

lol at Canucks fans saying Galchenyuk and stuff, that is way overrating him, he is a good top 6 guy, and arguably the best third liner in the league if put in that position, but he isn't worth that.

Nah, a comparison would very likely be Eller. Very, very similar players. Habs are my #1 team, Canucks are my #2. Very similar players.

Hansen is a little smarter, but Eller is a little stronger on the puck. Besides those minor differences, they are the same player.
I appreciate the back up. I have watched our Honey Badger since he got here but Eller is going to be a better player in his prime. This is my gut feeling.

If Montreal really wants to give us Eller for him, I do it.

Yeah well if ,mtl would want Hansen it would be to play with his fellow dane and become the best 3rd line in the league.

So that's that.

Insane overpayment. Like insanely rediculous. I don't need to throw around names I think everyone knows who/what I mean.

Jannik goes nowhere. He is like 3rd, 4th or 5th on our untouchable list behind the Sedins, then maybe Schneider or/and Kesler.

Yes, Hansen goes nowhere.
No one in Vancouver thinks he's a superstar, or on the verge of becoming one (at least I hope not), but for what he brings, and the amount he's paid for his very versatile skill set, Gillis would either have to be a total idiot to trade him, or have a GM way overpay for him.

So Hansen will remain a Canuck for the foreseeable future.

I think Mason Raymond is a guy that other GM's should be targeting.
He's having a very nice comeback season, and has a similar skillset as Hansen, minus the grit.
Raymond is a very underrated player.

Honestly I've watched both Hansen and Eller a lot this year and they're very similar. I think Eller is a little bit more valuable though. He has the ability to completely take over a game if he wants to. I don't see a trade here because if Montreal wanted Hansen, it would be to play on the 3rd line with Eller and Galchenyuk.
