The prices on Murray, and Leopold, suggest to me that the Ducks could get a good deal for Lydman, ANA is not going to re-sign him i can personally see him being moved

Fun Fact: Jordan Leopold was actual drafted by the Ducks

If they can get a 2nd+ for Lydman, I'd think about it, although I'd kind of like to have him around for the playoffs.

With the inconsistencies of Allen and Sbisa this season, it'd be a mistake to move Lydman unless another defenseman is added.

I would like to see Lydman getting moved for a 2nd or to any team that pays the most for him (a pick or two). Then I would use those pieces plus maybe something else to get Regehr.

Souray-Beauchemin
Fowler-Regehr
Allen-Sbisa/Lovejoy

Not bad.

Wow.
Probably why he's on IR. They won't say, but it sounds like he fractured something blocking a shot. My guess is a toe or one of the bones on the top of the foot.

I just wish the team would actually let us know what's up with him.

We're now known for not letting fans know what the injury is. It's either the flu or the mysterious "Upper body injury". Our training staff is ridiculously tight-lipped

It's weird. It seemed like before Boudreau came in, they were more willing to disclose the details of an injury. It's kind of pissing me off.

It's got nothing to do with BB. No team publicizes an injury that may give opponents something to target when the guy comes back. That's just good business whether we like it or not.

Thats the main point. If theres any chance of Bonino playing partially injured, they won't want other teams to know the injury.

He would constantly targeted with hits/pucks/sticks. Loose lips sink ships

I'm pretty sure it's a hamstring injury.

I think they do seem more tight-lipped about it since Boudreau came over. Policies like this are probably set by agreement between all the layers of management.

Which is kind of interesting because Boudreau seems more open about a lot of other things.

Obviously all levels of management are on board with how much and what they say, but I think it is mere coincidence that it may have gotten tighter since BB arrived. But I have no doubt he is on board with the program.

What makes you say that? Hamstring injuries aren't common with hockey players. I figure it's a groin pull.

I'm with whoever said a broken bone in his foot from blocking a shot.

I thought it happened during a practice, he tried to go (against PHX?) but the flu kept him out. We all thought he was ok and taking part of practices but all of a sudden he was injured.

The flu might have been a public excuse when they found out he was more seriously injured. Speculation on my part but not out of the realm of possibility.

I think that makes the most sense. A lot of time guys break a bone without realizing it is broken. They try and play or practice and when it keeps hurting they get it x-rayed and find out the bad news. Especially guys who block as many shots as the ***** does.

I always thought it was some sort of muscle strain issue. That's usually the most vague injuries for athletes to go through, and seemed most likely when he hung around that first game to see if he could play.

Teams generally won't let players play with fractures, unless it's the playoffs, so letting him chill on the bench without getting x-rays seems highly unlikely.

I remember Stephens (I think) saying a week or two ago that Bonino was limping, no mention of a protective boot etc on (which you assume he would if he had a broken foot for example), so a muscle strain does seem like the most logical thing.

I wouldn't rule out anything but remember, the Ducks had nobody to take his place that first game. They were down a man without him. So whatever it was I think BB admitted that keeping him on the bench the first period was strictly a decoy to let the opponent think he could play and send out lines accordingly. I don't remember who the healthy scratches were but they may have had no option that day to dress a 12th forward, hence the decoy.

I'd personally like to see the kid line in the playoffs:

Beleskey - Getzlaf - Perry
Ryan - X - Selanne
Winnik - Koivu - Cogliano
Etem - Holland - Palmieri

X = trade or Bonino (if he's healthy)
