maybe take on 1 million of Volch's caphit? and then trade him to LA for a 5th

I really wanted to like Volchenkov in NJ but the guy is too slow and too dumb and I think we're stuck with him

That's the opposite of what the Kings need, then.

What happens if Brodeur gets hurt in the playoffs or is out for a good amount of time next year. With Hedberg between the pipes the Devils would be a laughing stock headed toward a basement finish in the Eastern Conference.
If we have to trade roster players from our already thin forwards corps then I doubt we make the playoffs anyway. Also don't think Bernier will be too happy getting traded and still being the back up next yr.

Williams having one of those games where he kills the Kings offensive zone pressure when the puck comes to him.

I don't see Lamoriello moving Fayne/Volchenkov unless the Devils are getting a effective roster forward back. Down the stretch it would be like Lou to keep the defensive depth than add some picks/prospect unless of course its a really good deal

Hedberg is a good back-up goalie that hit a rough stretch and was being forced to play because the only other option was two totally inexperienced AHL goalies.

Hedberg is one of the better back up goaltenders in the league.

He'd have to be used as a PK specialist and given a little freedom to hit. I think he would fit the Kings nicely. He has a week where he looks like the Sen Volch but then he'll have a really bad game. His brains are mush at this point I think.

It's not just a scout when a team sends the Assistant GM. Curious who they might be looking at. Maybe one of the Devils defencemen for Brad Richardson or something?
Why does it have to be Jersey? Tampa is a team that is more likely to start moving bodies around.

Not while we are in a playoff spot. Lou doesn't move UFA's when we are a playoff team.

In todays deadline deals Tallinder is worth three 1sts and a good prospect. If Leopold is worth a 2nd and a conditional 4rth then Tallinder is worth twice as much.

YEK!

Tallinder should draw a 4rth but who knows.
