Then there's the possibility that a spot is opened up when one of those young, right handed shots makes the Canucks ...
There's that possibility, of course. Barring that, though, it would be a squeeze to fit all of them in. Unless Connauton is converted to a forward or something - which might be his best bet to make it now.

He will be traded at the deadline just like Ellington was last year.

It will, at least, be very interesting to watch.

It would make sense for one of those prospects to get moved; maybe you're right and it'll be Sauve, though you'd think his drop to the ECHL would make other clubs as pessimistic about him as many posters here are (reasonably enough).

The 'like Ellington' part was key there. Ellington was a contract dump, rather than being traded for any value he had.

I chose to ignore the hint. I think the organization sees every one of those players as having positive value, so if they're moved, it won't be a simple dump. There are a few forwards, however, who could be Ellingtoned.

Kalamazoo has one game left tonight, but they can't make the playoffs. Is this the end of the season for Mallet, Grenier, and Sauve, or do they get any time with the Wolves?

My prediction with sauve is that they will not simply dump his contract and give up on a 23 year old gillis 2nd round pick with upside but will re-evaluate his play relative to other dmen in the system upon training camp. His play in the echl is encouraging enough to think he is good enough to play in the ahl right now. Canucks have no real reason to dump him as other contracts will be set to expire.

The situation with Ellington was different in that he was not a gillis pick and had repeated chances to earn a spot with the ahl club but failed to do so. This is sauve's first demotion and it was due to a decision from a coach that I find suspect

Personally speaking, I think it would be mistake for them to give up on sauve as well. It's not good asset management to give up on young players that easily. He could easily turn out to be a Johnny boychuk type late bloomer in the future.

They do to us but, Desbiens, Schneider, Tochkin dont. And if he doesn't pick it up soon, add Rodin to that list

I agree that those forwards have little if any positive value. I'd even add a few more. My post, the one you found laughable, referred to the list of d-men likely to play for the Wolves (or whichever AHL Canucks affiliate) next year.

Pretty sure they'll get called up. It's what Nucks brass would want - get more experience, especially in a playoff series, and gives them another chance to evaluate them at the AHL level.

A little bittersweet that Beattie isn't playing though, though hopefully he's getting some good experience out of it all.

They'll get reassigned. Even if they just ride along as black aces, they'll get called up.

It looks like he only has 1 goal - I guess the scorers took away the assist.

Bulls up 4 - 0 midway through the second.

Looking pretty good for our OHL prospects so far, with Kitchener advancing, and Belleville hopefully up 3-2 after today.

Man Belleville sure dominates in that crazy barn of theirs. I wonder how they'll do if they make it to the Mem Cup and don't have that advantage?

The Quebec kids end their season in K-zoo with 10 goals each:

Sauve: 19 pts in 32 GP (10g, 9a), +2, 74 SOG, 40 PIM
Grenier: 31 pts in 37 GP (10g, 21a), +2, 90 SOG, 51 PIM
Mallet: 29 pts in 44 GP (10g, 19a), +1, 95 SOG, 48 PIM

With five fights and two 10-min misconducts between them, that's quite the undisciplined bunch we have here! Whoever said the French were a bunch of cheese-eating surrender monkeys?

So what is the final analysis on Grenier's 1st pro season in NA?
He surprised me with the numbers he put up and seems like he has resurrected himself as a legit project type of prospect???

Can someone comment on where he stands as a Canuck prospect.

And also on Mallet.
