Seems pointless since I'm sure Detroit would have waived him. Hopefully they waive Foster. Although the Flyers are only 4 points out now, so I guess you can't say they're out of it.

Detroit must have a bigger move in mind if they're trading a defenseman like Huskins who's style of play fits Philadelphia's.

What? No it's because Detroit had 10 defensemen after signing DeKeyser.

Kronwall
Ericsson
Kindl
Smith
White
Quincey
Lashoff
Colaiacovo
Huskins
DeKeyser

Huskins surprised me with how solid he was. Hard working, never saw him make a mistake, and that's a rarity on the Red Wing's blueline this season. Hope he'll get some playingtime in Philly, wish him all the best.

Zetterberg, Ericsson and maybe even Marchenko here two years ago. Detroit loves them some 7s

Flyers won't resign him so they basically got him for nothing. This was just our way of assuring we got him if he was going to hit the waiver wire.

The condition is him playing 5 games. Or are you saying the 7th is nothing?

Read further down. The condition seems to be only if he signs a new contract with Philly before next year.

Yes, you can forget your "dream" 7th pick since Huskins won't resign with Flyers. It means Flyers got something for nothing but it really doesn't matter for Detroit because they would waive him later. By the way, It's ridiculous how draft picks or prospects are still overrated here.

Really a nothing for nothing trade.

Detroit trades Huskins to make room for DeKeyser on the roster and Philly takes him to fill out their roster for the rest of the season with all the injuries. They let Huskins walk most likely unless he plays well enough to re-sign and even then it's only a seventh, which is insignificant.

Good trade for both.
