Kaberle was good on the power play because of McKabe's shot however, once most teams knew he would not shoot himself they would key on the shooting defenceman and that is the reason he and PK never worked well, every defence was key on PK as the shooter. If you look at how PK and Markov work they switch up and both shoot the puck, so that makes the PP more effective. If Kaberle would shoot more he could still be effective on the PP. It was not that the Habs did not give him a change, they just had too many defencemen. The got Boullion because he was more consistent and played a tougher game than Kaberle. Really there is not much difference between him and Markov skill wise, except Markov shoots the puck and tends to get more involved down low which is what makes him that much more effective.

I was actually hoping the Rangers might be interested, they need some offensive spark. And if nothing else they owe us for the Gomez ripoff.

Guess not...

No, McCabe was good because of Kaberle.

Contrarily to popular belief, they were actually both very good. I'd actually say McCabe was a bit better because he was a workhorse.

They complimented each other, but Kaberle did well before and after McCabe

I dont expect Kaberle to get claimed. If he was 2 million dolalrs cheaper, I think a team would easily take him.. but not at this price.

His cap hit is the problem.

I think someone would take him at 2 mill.

I think the Habs would have kept him at 2 mill.
And wouldn't be bubblewrapping him.

Good. Now we can trade him to NYI for Dipietro and Tavares.

The reason they put him on waivers per the "Insiders" is they can now demote him for a few days(until the 23 player roster limit is up) if they pick up somebody by trade.

With another year left no way someone is taking him. Our only hope at this point is swap with another bad contract or wait until summer to buy him out.

Yes that and the fact that he is a useless hockey player like we have been telling you since we've acquired him. His days in the NHL are done. I expect him to be playing in Europe as of next year
