If we finish second to last the furthest we could drop down is to 3rd. And we would have an 18.8% chance to win the lottery. If we finish dead last the furthest we could drop down is 2nd. Then we would have a 25% chance to win the lottery.

25 to 18.8 not the worst thing in the world.

What would be the price for the Avs to move to number 1 so we can take Jones?

I think either you get him with the second pick or Tallon takes him. I don't think you'd have to move up. And if you'd have to move up to get him, Tallon wont trade with you guys.

I'd certainly hope this was the case and we could grab their second rounder for this

***tank alert***

Both the Flyers & Avs win today. Now I'd like to see Buffalo & Washington go into overtime.

Why wouldn't Tallon trade the pick? If the Avs are right behind us make not taking the guy we want part of the trade.

Just wondering, do you still feel this way?

Not that I advocate this at all, but with as hot as Matthias is playing right now what do you think we could get for him at the deadline?

Again, not suggesting we actually trade him.

Probably a 1st from an elite team. But yeah, he's not getting traded.

So with Weiss back, our lines would be:

1st- Kris "Kane" Versteeg - Love me or Leave me Weiss - Flashes of brilliance
2nd - ROY 2013 - BEAST MODE MATTHIAS/Shore side - Pert Plus Peter Mueller
3rd - Mr. Blonde Berg - Marvellous Marcel - KoPESTky
4th - JACKY BOY - Shore side/BEAST MODE MATTHIAS - Quickie Howden

Yes I'm all for having Matthias on 2nd line and Shore bumped to 4th line, my thinking is Shore could become a better defensive minded player and be molded like Matthias has been the last couple years. With Smithson gone hopefully, Howden could bring some sensational speed to a nice 4th line trio along with Shore and Skille.

So without Weiss back, our lines would be:

1st- Kris "Kane" Versteeg - Marvellous Marcel/WEISS REPLACEMENT - Flashes of brilliance
2nd - ROY 2013 - BEAST MODE MATTHIAS/Shore side - Pert Plus Peter Mueller
3rd - Mr. Blonde Berg - Marvellous Marcel/BEAST MODE MATTHIAS - KoPESTky
4th - JACKY BOY - Shore side/Marvellous Marcel - Quickie Howden

I know most would like to see Bjugstad relieve some of the confusion with our open spot at Center when/if Weiss leaves but I think Bjugger is going to get the Huberdeau treatment, play 8-9 games and sent down for at least a year in SA. Matthias has shown he can possibly play anywhere from 1st-4th line Center ON THIS TEAM even though ideally he's suited for 2nd or 3rd line roles.

This is all considering Goc, Kopecky or any others aren't traded come Wednesday. I say Tallon keeps the team the same way, figure out the Weiss answer and act accordingly. If/When Bjugstad can crack the lineup and where to place him and the mystery of Weiss are the two biggest questions in my book for next year.

Matthias or Shore/Bjugstad on the 4th line would be a travesty.

Ya I agree but what's your solution? I feel Matthias is a better fit on the 2nd line than Shore. I really liked the Kid Line too but they haven't had the same success lately. Weiss really throws a monkey wrench into the plan for Tallon.

I know we love our prospects but I'm not ready to say Bjugstad is going to be playing at the NHL level next year. He definitely has a good shot to make the team but I'm not going to be surprised if he starts the year in the AHL. If we can get him to sign and play in San Antonio we will have a better idea of where he stands.

I'd rather have Shore be the #1 center in the AHL than the #4 center in the NHL.

I think Goc gets traded if Tallon can get a first for him or a second and third.

Goc is also a waste on the fourth line, imo.

Can we agree Shore is and never will be a #1 Center, he could keep 2nd line but Matthias deserves it way more right now. I'm not hating on Shore, he's just not as versatile as Matthias right now so why not try to develop his defensive game, he's a decent size and could become a solid 3rd line center if Bjugtsad and Matthias become our #1 and #2's in a couple years time if Weiss leaves. To give Shore 3rd line next year over Goc would be a slap in Marcel's face.

I agree, rather see him traded. Especially if Weiss comes back.

The only solution is Goc traded for a nice package of futures. With Matthias' emergence he's almost redundant.

Huh? I said I'd rather have him be the #1 Center in San Antonio then get crap minutes on the fourth line. Shore's defensive game is good. He needs to develop his offensive game which is why playing a lot in the AHL makes more sense. I don't know yet if he will be. I highly doubt he'll be a #1 center but he has a good shot at being a career #2 guy. Matthias is certainly not a #1 center either.

I'm also not convinced Matthias's performance lately is the true Matthias. He's going to come down to earth. I'm not trying to take anything away from him but he's on a super hot streak and I don't think it's an honest assessment to believe his play in March is the player he's going to be. Probably somewhere in between what he's doing now and what he was doing in January.

Get a pretty strong feeling that Weiss won't be back. Leaves a lot of question marks.

Matthias always blossoms after a few years. Thought he'd catch on sooner, but I think this is closer to who he is. He's likely gonna be streaky, though.

Even a 2nd+pick/prospect would be fine for Goc.

I don't expect Bjugstad to be in the NHL either, the only way is if he outperforms Shore in camp, but Shore has already had a taste of the NHL and will come to camp better prepared for what to expect than Bjugstad.

I don't think Matthias is necessarily going to become a consistent 30 goal scorer, but I think he could develop into a quality #2 center.

Imagine:
Bjugstad 6'6" 230 lbs.
Matthias 6'4" 220 lbs.

As your 1-2 punch down the middle
