6-0 in Montreal was fun RT @mattyantha: There's nothing more satisfying than a @MapleLeafs shutout on Ottawa ice. #TMLtalk

Torts is good hire for less talented vet team who needs a guy to push them ,, He gets a few years of quality play and then players tune him out

He is horrid at handling young talent IMO (Kreider has been poorly handled)

I think Torts had some luck and that one Cup made his career. Should be fired already

Anyone catch the Pens win yesterday? Pens newcomers were all a significant part of the action. With Crosby down and out after getting a puck in the mouth on his first shift, the team played a gritty hard fought game and looked impressive in doing so. Even Malkin was physical, Vokoun was good in the nets and the game winner was scored by Matt Cooke.

This team looks playoff ready and will only get better as the new guys settle in. I'm jealous.

I'll believe in the pens when i see it in playoffs. don't forget all the hype leading into the playoffs last year before the flyers completely exposed them

I think it would be so awesome if the Flyers somehow made it to the 8 seed and played the Penguins in the first round. It would be an epic series and if there's any team that can derail the Penguins quick, it's the Flyers.

Not this year's Flyers, god are they terrible.

I'm not buying into the Pens either.

Pittsburgh is having a great season, could be their year. In fact, if they can stay healthy, they could be dominate for a few years.....At least during the regular season.

The Flyers are only 4 points behind my Rangers. I wouldnt count any of the teams out in the East..... out.

Even Washington and Buffalo.

LOL, wasn't he the next big thing in the NHL and that it was a win win trade?

Gillis proved that he is a bad GM. Nucks should do a rebuild and this starts with the GM and Coach

Most reasonable people knew the Hodgson trade was disaster

Kid's only flaws are his skating (Which has improved) and his back (Always worrisome)

#87update. Can confirm #Penguins Crosby had surgery yesterday to his jaw. Extent of the damage still being evaluated 2day. Out indefinitely

I wonder how bad it is...doesn't sound good at all.

Not NHL related, but wasn't sure if it was thread worthy and figured this would be a good spot for it... but, holy crap... leaves behind a pregnant wife and young daughter. He was 33.

Woah. Yeah, on second look it definitely rocked his jaw back, I figured he'd just get patched up and keep those teeth on the mantelpiece. That sounds pretty serious but, being a hockey player, wouldn't be shocked if after a few weeks he comes back with a facemask.

Can't oral surgery really mean a lot of things, though? The consider getting your wisdom teeth removed as oral surgery, no? Not saying he won't be out a while, just that I wouldn't automatically say he'll be out for weeks because of the surgery in the wording.

No clue, but in my mind when you get oral surgery doesn't that usually refer to gums/teeth and jaw surgery is related to the bone or joint?

Crosby out indefinitely according to Pierre just now

What a loss for Pittsburgh, especially if he's not back for the playoffs

i don't think so.

Pass it to Bulis ‏@passittobulis 46m
Kassian to Wolves is NOT a conditioning stint. Just a regular demotion.
