the 2010 team would run circles around the 2013 team.

comparing them is an insult

i would genuinely like to hear how those two teams compare.

Especially the young kids, they will struggle with the NHL like all young defenders do.

Our forwards also played a committed defensive game yesterday. Not saying they won't again, but break downs happen. I won't be getting excited about our team until the defense shows consistency and not just one good game. I have always been a glass half full type of guy, but with these injuries amounting and the schedule coming up, we don't have the most optimistic outlook.
The same could be said before the injuries to Grossmann, Coburn and Mez.

in 2010 i think the flyers did pretty much 1 transaction that changed the course of their playoff hopes and that was aquiring ville leino. A under the radar move that really sparked us in the playoffs.

Then it was getting gagne back for game 4 vs boston.

The kings are a great example too last year. My goodness they had no scoring whatsoever , richards was centering nolan and king on the 2nd line . But aquiring carter gave them 2 lines that could score and then all of a sudden penner's play picks up and now you have a legitimate 2nd line.

All season everyone on our team has been playing below expectation sans vorabeast. Now imagine if something clicked? I dont know briere reunited with hartnell , or Schenn coming into his own on the second line, or even a guy like laurison and gus getting comfortable in the NHl. These things can have significant effects , and with the right matchup, a injured pens teams who we can beat, and some luck anything is possible.

Very true. However, I hardly think that's something we can count on happening if we make a trade. Unless we get a real impact player, which I doubt, nothing is likely to change our fortunes. And this team has issues at both ends of the ice. I think we're multiple pieces away from being a real contender, unlike the 2010 Flyers or last year's Kings.

#Flyers new defenseman Kent Huskins will wear #23 and be in the lineup tonight vs. Capitals.

I hope It's not over Lauridsen.

yes please. since foster doesn't want to shoot and that's literally all he bring to the table in the NHL then i would sit him but that's just me.

Foster should sit. Gervais is the current #4 with all those injuries and made his best game so far in o&b against Boston.

I don't know how HBO works in Canada, but according to the schedule for the U.S. it will be shown twice tonight; (did I use the semi-colon right?) once at 9PM ET and then again right after.
