Ryan Jones

Notice today that Anton Lander was recalled, meaning the Ryan Smith would be moving back to the wing. Meaning that Ryan Jones could be on the bubble, what would the value of Ryan Jones, he's UFA this year. He a good 3rd line winger, that plays both wings well, and a good PKer, and good hands arounds the net.

He'd fit right into Ottawa's band of misfits.

How does a straight-up Jones for Bishop swap sound?

Why on earth would the Sabres do that? It would take an overpayment to get him out of Buffalo. Other teams would easily outbid that. Not only that Jones is a UFA....

Watched Bishop last night and I wasn't too impressed, it may of been a off night. It would take more then Jones to get him and I'm not sure if the Oilers would want him.

Deal! , Always liked Boyle. Would bring some size and physical play in our fourth line while being a good a face off man and penalty killer.

They just called Anton Lander up, had 6pts in the OKC game on saturday, he's been looking good since he's returned. Boyle offer is tempting though.

I think it would be best to leave him in OKC to keep gaining confidence and a leader down there. Would be best for his development IMO. We are pushing to make the playoffs and Boyle would be much needed especially in the west with all the big centers. Much better than Smyth paying 4th line C.

Watch the game off and on and Lander look good with Harti. Before he was injured he look good with the Oilers, no Boyle is not a option.

So, we're in agreement here? Boyle + 3rd/4th for Jones? Hopefully GMST reads HFboards...... It'd explain a lot.

I'm down to the trade. Need a replacement center after the trade? Belanger for future considerations?

As an Oil fan I'd be all over that. Boyle's play dropped off that much this year though?

I have but he was scratched . Have you? It's not like Jones has been better but I can cut him some slack since he recovering from his eye injury. Don't get me wrong I like Jones but hes going to be a UFA and in return we get a center and a pick. Hard to turn down....

Who knows maybe both need a change of scenery? Especially Boyle.

We were comparing Boyle to Lander were we not. I have no problem trading Jones, but not for Boyle, especially when Lander is showing promise. Would make common sense to trade for something the Oilers need, and Boyle has a good FO performance, but other then that I'm not sure if he would do more harm then good

His defensive play is great as usual, but he's become even more of an offensive blackhole than he already was. Just as long as you know you're not acquiring him for offense...

Like I said before, Agree to disagree. In my opinion let Lander play in a top 6 role in OKC and let him gain confidence. He will be playing 4th line C here. Its better for him to be playing top 6 in OKC IMO. He was never much of an offensive stalwart and it seems like hes coming around and producing. I think he can replace Horcoff as a 3rd line C in the coming years but he needs to keep developing. Boyle gives us a better chance to make the playoffs than Lander.

We can afford to trade Jones since we have Teemu Hartikainen waiting in the wings.
