Well the good news is the caps dominated 5v5... Just keep it going and whatever they do, make sure Philly doesn't give them a 5v3.

Not really. That's how we played with BB too. This team, for some reason, goes through periods where they refuse to move the puck. OV, as great as his shot can be, can also be a PP killer.

Ribeiro didnt help matters during 5-on-3. Fumbled it away at side of net.

And green's zone entry was laughable.

At least ovie was looking to shoot. And at least we followed up with good PK effort of our own.

There's no more static 5-on-3 PP than theirs. Horrible. At least when Semin occupied Brouwer's spot there was hope for a finish on the cross-ice feed. No idea why they stick with the same old infuriating station-to-station set-up. Introduce some movement fer crissakes.

Plus, coutourier just breezed rite past him at ES. i wonder what his own candid assessment would be of his current physical capacity. To me he looks about 80% of his normal speed and agility.

Team needs to be built around Nicky and Ovi....as far as I'm concerned Laich and Green should be traded...that's 10 million dollars that can be better spent elsewhere.

I disagree. Him ripping it at every opportunity is what we need, IMO.

Not a great save percentage so far for Holtby. 7 shots, 5 saves.

Yep. He's the only one who shoots it, not only as a last resort.

Glenn Hall played 502 consecutive games in goal. For the vast majority of his career he did not wear a mask, that tells me Hall would not have ducked out of a start, no matter what.

If he ever played with a concussion (if he would have even known at the time) then he was a fool. Of course, pucks didn't get elevated nearly as much at the time so the risks were different.

Iron man streaks are so overrated, though. If a guy is sick or injured enough to make them not worth playing, then playing despite that isn't guts, it's selfish and foolish. If their play isn't compromised it's another thing obviously.

I'd be surprised if Neuvy was inclined to do the Caps any favors right now given his clear backup status.
