Les Nordiques de Quebec are looking to acquire one of the very next selection in the draft. We are offering the following deal:

528-to-535(17th) - 785to791(25th)
FOR
553(18th) - 664(21st)

+18to+25 - -121to-127

The first team to accept this deal in this thread is the one we will take, independently of the proposal we like the best. If you any question, contact EagleBelfour AND DaveG (I'm crashing soon for the night, Dave will be around for the next few hours. I'll be up tomorrow to answer any inquiries)

This trade is conditional to one player being available.

Thank you!

Please type your full team name in the future, so I don't have to look it up when I update the OP of this thread.

The trade is fine.

I'm looking to move up. 628 is the pick I want to move up and picks 653 and 692 are the upgrades I'm willing to give.

The Cincinnati Fireworks and Vancouver Millionaires have just completed one of the biggest trades in ATD history:

To Cincinnati: Frank Mahovlich, Duke Keats and Red Kelly

To Vancouver: Denis Savard, Ted Lindsay and Ken Reardon

MB to confirm.

Whoa!!!!! Biggest ATD deal I've ever seen. Wild...

It looks good to me. I also like the Millionaires' team a lot more after this trade.

I'm not on the trade committee, but I don't think this one is fair at all. Here's how it shapes up pick wise..

To Cincy: 15, 50, 242
To Van: 29, 154, 164

This should be vetoed.

Mmmkay so basically what we have here is 15, 50, and 242 for 29, 154, and 164.

That's vetoable.

No chance this trade gets vetoed.

Why are you looking at the numbered picks? Look at the players, there is no way this trade is not fair.

I got Savard at as a steal when he was picked, you can't use his draft position as his value, LOOK AT HIM.

I upgrade two important forwards slightly while you upgrade one defenceman majorly, it's fair.

Exactly, and just so everybody is aware this trade didn't come out of nowhere, MB and I have been talking back and forth for a while trying to hash out a trade. We have spent several hours working on this and we both give up where we had a surplus of wealth (I spent my first 3 picks on forwards, he had an extremely talented top 3)

The difference in Mahovlich and Lindsay is minimal and the Savard/Keats swap isn't great enough to make up for the difference in Kelly/Reardon.

The number where these guys were picked does matter, it gives some sense of how everyone ranks them. Even if Savard's draft spot was improved by 50, it would still be unfair from a picks perspective. It would look like this...

To Cincy: 15, 50, 242
To Van: 29, 114, 154

That's a 14 pick jump in the first round and a 64 pick jump in the 2nd round for an 88 pick jump in the late 4th. In other words 78 picks now for 88 more than two rounds later.

Here is how I see it from the perspective of the players...

Kelly: High-end #1 Dman
Reardon: Average #2 Dman

Lindsay: Elite 1st line LW
Mahovlich: High-end 1st line LW (the very next LW taken in the draft)

Savard: Above-average #2 Center
Keats: Low-end #2 Center

No way a big upgrade at 2nd line center is equivalent to an even bigger upgrade at #1 Dman with just a small 1st line forward upgrade thrown in.

Oh wait, he just did the job I wanted to do way better than I could have. Good work HT. Yeah this is a veto from my perspective.

I'm not going to say much more, I'm pretty confident the committee will veto this, but I will try to give some helpful suggestions to the GM's involved. I see why you would want to do a trade that gets Savard away from Keenan and Mahovlich away from Imlach (although it doesn't completely solve your problems, as those players will still be in an unfavorable situation playing for tyranical type coaches). I think if you replace Reardon with Gerard in this deal, it will have a better chance to be approved, although not be guaranteed. Good luck to you guys.

Ya no surprise at all that you are against the trade, would you care this much if you thought it was a better trade for Vancouver?

Like BB mentioned, we traded players not numbers and there is no way this creates an unfair balance for the ATD (which is why the veto was created in the first place)

Can someone not in mark's division tell him that this is a bad deal please? It apparently comes off as me having a vested interest when I do.

I think all things considered this is perhaps a tiny bit in favour one way. But Vancouver eliminates a volatile coach-player relationship and adds a more competent second line centre with more appropriate chemistry with the wingers.

It's that easy, well put.

Let's not forget why the veto power was created for trades.

The veto was created to eliminate off the wall trades that create an unfair balance. If anybody can say that this trade creates an unfair balance they are lying to themselves. In no way whatsoever does this create an unfair balance in the ATD.
