I kind of guessed as much, but just wanted to point that out. Just in case.

No harm no foul. Happy Easter/Joyeux Pâques!

Bettman's going to be pissed when he finds out this guy leaked their plans to put a 2nd team in Winnipeg.

Indeed. And they'll called the Giants and share the MTS Centre - which will repaint the ice behind the goal lines depending on which team is playing. Jets fans will love it!

The world has figured out that the NHL could not care less who uses this charade as their latest and cheapest PR stunt to drum up eyeballs, ears and dead bodies to rally for their personal causes. Pastor is a complete fraud who is using the present medium to draw attention to his little asset management firm. An announcement next week? Please!! About what? that he recently made a call to the NHL offices inquiring about owner qualifications? The answer came back to his liking and thus his own self promotion. BTW, the league offices said, a heartbeat is all that is needed to make an offer on this wounded animal.

Getting a giggle from the thought of converting the Mint to a hockey arena and/or the Esplanade Riel to one.

I was thinking the mall. With two NHL teams no one will have time to shop...

If the Yotes blow this 3 game homestand they could be pretty much out of the playoffs and with only 3 home games after that I could see some movement on the issue after this week

I'd hope that, if they're really planning on cutting ties this summer, the league at least makes some kind of indication of that intention before the final home game. It's only right for the fans who have stuck with the team through all of this.

I don't want to be this cynical, but I doubt the NHL would be that kind, looking at their gameplan to this point. Chipman openly said that he was 20 minutes away from owning the Yotes a few years ago. That would have been 0 indication to fans.

They can just do the Winter Classic year round, and play at Investors Group Field.

You're probably right, sadly.

It's not right to send Coyotes fans into the summer with a smile and a "see you next season" if that's not what they're really planning to do. But I wouldn't put it past them.

It wasn't right in Atlanta either.

From Stephane Patry ‏@stephanepatry (translated from French to English)

According to one of my sources, the town of Qc (ExpoCité) contacted all promoters who had reserved at the Coliseum dates

between September 15, 2013 and December 31, 2013, to advise them that their dates were not available until further notice...

Be seeing you...

It really wasn't. But at least in that case it was a corporation, not the league itself.

The league owes a certain degree of courtesy to the Coyotes fans who have been shoveling their expendable income AND taxes into keeping this little venture afloat for the past 4 years. All it takes is an acknowledgment of what's going to happen, so that the various interested parties get an opportunity for closure. There's no need to be duplicitous at this point, given the amount of media that's circling the story.
