Gillman says there are serious talks, we've heard there's a deal in principle from the GM before. So I wouldn't take that too seriously, and then he says they won't give him away. This is the same old. It's deadline hype, it's the story of the next few days.

This is legit.
Both the Canucks and TSN are trying to boost something

TSN boosting ratings

Canucks boosting interest in Luongo

Also Leafs fans relax.

Most people aren't really pitching him to Toronto.

This thread is 75% "Leafs dont want him" and I don't think anyones said he should go there in this thread...

A FUTURE HALL OF FAMER? Gosh.. Reimer has a better save % than him. What, he has gold medals from playing on stacked Canadian teams, that almost any nhl level goalie could get? Should Fleury be considered a future HHOFer, since he has a cup also.

This is legit.
Canucks management has been using the media to try and inflate Luongo's value for months now, it hasn't worked, and most likely isn't going to.

Luongo isn't going to save anybody's season, and he's not the type of goalie that a rebuilding team is going to pick up at deadline prices. Maybe there's a fit with Tampa who have a shorter outlook, but there's substantial cap implications of course.

I don't get how any team can have that contract, it expires in 2021-22, could be three years plus of bad cap hit. He'll be way too old for value,

It would really need to be Scrivens and Grabovski for me to do the deal from a Leafs point of view, the contract just isn't looking very pretty to me.

I like a lot of our prospects and i'd rather not move any 1st or 2nds (unless it was addressing a centre or defense partner for Phaneuf) in this years draft.

1. Kick the tires.

2. Light the fires.

This is code for Luongo going to the Flames. -Hockeybuzz.

If Canucks are making a trade with TB They'd probably be calling for Tyler Johnson to be thrown in.

Why come into a thread to say "we don't need him" when people arent discussing Luono to the leafs in this thread?

He Wont move Booth just for the **** of it and Thompson aint going anywhere.

It'd most likely be
Matthias/Goc + Mueller/Fleischman + Clemmenssen for Luongo and a pick/prospect
Purcell + Garon for Luongo
Johansson/Laich + Goalie for Luongo

If MG doesnt want a rental, hell take Grabovski, but i dont think he likes Grabos salary and contract and he isnt even a good top 6 guy imo

Ballard is guaranteed to be gone after this season, so you can take him out.
And if we acquire a forward making $5+ mil, Booth will likely be bought out.

Even then...that contract Luongo is on is so damn awful. Good goalie but I'd have a hard time getting past it.

Might have to take some salary back, bud.

Watch it be Lecavalier. Lol. One albatross for another. Oh, but dats ok. Because dis one is a turd line center. Not really, but y'know.

As much as I'd love to believe this is true, realistically this yet another desperate attempt by the Nucks to create a trade partner.
I suspect this goes nowhere; I'd love to be wrong though (and really, really hope I am!).

He's getting traded to Pittsburgh, then they're pursuing Doughty, Seabrook, Keith, Toews, etc. Gonna go full Team Canada 2010. Pronger's coming back to play, same with Nieds
