Aye, that's true. So it is possible, but unrealistic I would think. And especially for Grabovski, because...why.

I figure this addresses the need for
- Top 6 forward (albeit we lose one)
- Heavy lifting bottom 6 C
- Backup goalie

See the draw of TJ but Tampa probs wont wanna move him (plus we have Schroeder who is doing alright).

They've got a great young G in Vasilevski who might enter the blue chip status soon. They also don't necessarily have a strong, contending squad. Luongo doesn't solve their defensive issues. I doubt they'd fare much better even with a stopper like Luongo at the back end.

They paid a pretty good price for Lindback just this past off season.

With a new coach, Yzerman shouldn't make a drastic move at this point where he knows his team is very likely not to make the playoffs. Better off just staying put, accumulating a high draft pick, and go from there.

Gillis doesnt like small Forwards, especially as a 3rd line C, he doesnt mind having a small player in top 6(Schroeder), but hates them in bottom 6

Reimer also has a better save % than Martin Brodeur! Good company to be in.

I just can't imagine TSN without the trade Luongo shtick. How will they sell their ad time. Trade won't help the the media, so it won't happen.

Not completely unrealistic.

- Gillis has flat out said that he doesn't want to acquire a top 6 winger at the deadline.
- We need a left handed center who is decent at faceoffs (Grabo's at 50.3%)
- We will likely have to take a bad contract in return for Luongo

Honestly, I just don't see it. What teams can or want to take on Luongo and his contract?

The only really logical option I see is New Jersey but it's looking like Brodeur is still going to be good to go for another season or two.

A very knowledgeable global moderator.

Doesn't matter if he's not a Canucks fan.

Let me give this a try...

To Vancouver
Frans Nielsen (Great 3rd line center)
John Persson (Decent LW prospect something the Canucks desperately need)
2nd Round Pick (Turns into a 3rd if it's a top 45 pick)

To NYI
Roberto Luongo
Mason Raymond

Isles could use a goalie but losing Nielsen (who is a big part of their team) might not be worth it.

That's why I'm not a GM derp.

If Buffalo is intent on moving Miller I can see them being interested. They get Luongo frees them up for a very good deal on the Miller end. Don't think Enroth really is that ready.

Not sure if the assets Buffalo has exactly align with what the Canucks need but maybe something can be worked into the Miller deal that brings those assets into play.

Not really sure if there'd be anyone else involved.
These are pretty good.

The Islanders aren't going to pay DiPietro to play in the minors for another decade whilst paying Luongo for another decade as well. Then again, this is Charles Wang we're talking about.

im not saying Grabo is going to be trade for Luongo

Grabovski, Reimer, Liles for Luongo, Barker

Then Leafs make a separate deal for a rental C like Roy for picks

You're not getting Bozak.

We need three offensively capable centres in our top 9.

Not willing to go into the playoffs with Jay McClement as our #3.

Sorry.

I was thinking this as well. If Miller isn't happy in Buffalo and is leaving (whether via trade or just walking when his contract is up) the Sabres are going to need another goalie badly. Out of Enroth, Leggio, Knapp and Lieuwen, who is realistically able to step in and be their starter?

Buffalo is a possibility, for sure, but obviously contingent on the Miller situation.

No.

Grabo and Reimer stay.

They can have Liles and a 3rd for Luongo.

I have never seen anything like this before. Where you have a top quality goalie who is a good guy and no one wants him on their team. I get the reasons and as a Leaf fan my 5 reasons are:
1.Lack of need(at the moment)
2.Will stall development of Reimer/Scrivens who I think will both become starters.
3.The $$ issue and the impact it will have on acquiring UFA's with the cap dropping.
4.With his age he is too young for a stop gap and too old to be a franchise goalie.
5.Don't want to part with anything.
