Gully doesn't even have a contract past this season correct?

Yea, so no guaranteed contract.

He'll be gone in the off season, barring the unbelievable (getting in).

Not many quotes there (in the Gaglardi interview) but he says a lot. Very to the point.

Is that sarcasm because the interview is sparse or did you miss it posted on the last page?

Gaglardi knowing we aren't likely to be a playoff team is a good sign.

It has been a long time since this team has seen a successful coach and I know its not worth speculating about replacements since we know Gully isnt going anywhere until at earliest the offseason but I was curious as to what you guys think this same team could accomplish with a decent coach. Is coaching a major issue for our disappointing seasons the past couple years? Can bringing in a decent, experienced NHL head coach, as well as new assistants, give this team a better foundation? Or is the major problem on ice personel? I know we all have our head scratching moments regarding Gully and for the record I feel we would have had more success had we hired Hitch.

I assume in TG's mind , he is looking at whether JN and GG go or just GG-Problem is JN has shown no ability to hire a coach-

Gully's contract runs up shortly. There's no reason to fire him.

It's possible that Joe stays but with the condition that Gainey and Recchi both have to sign off on whoever the new coach is.

Its simple, Gully says "We're fighting for our lives here" but he doesn´t know how to convert this attitude on players. He has to go after the season.

We are playing team which plays b2b and its 3rd game in 4 days and they come out with 8!!! shots after second period? And its not this only game. We were outshot in 22 games to 10 (not counting even shot games). I feel really bad for Kari and few other guys who try to do at least something out there.

problem is, nieuwendyk was one of the key players that couldn't stand the "hitchcock" way of doing things... you know, where the coach is the boss and expects results, rather than your friend that suggests what might work...

i just don't see us hiring a hard ass under the nieuwendyk regime... but we need one. hell, we need a torts on a bad day.

I've wondered about the Stars hiring Torts myself. Seems like if he's let go of by NYR, he'd be an interesting fit. And, hell, if he comes over Richards might follow him if he gets bought out

Even DBD is jumping on the Gulutzan is overmatched and a bad coach train.

This team needs a Torts, and it'd be a shame if Niewy didn't see the connection between a hardass coach and a great team.

No way I want Torts seeing how his team is turning on him now.

Well, that's what Crawford was supposed to be when he was hired. Unless all the comments about why he was hired were lies.

Wonder how many tweets we'd see from Avery, should Tortorella find a new home in Dallas.

Yeah Im really not getting the desire to hire the type of coach that has a 2 or 3 year shelf life at most.

It's weird. I blame Gully more than I blame Crawford for the failures of their teams, but I would rather play for a coach like Gully than I would play for one like Crawford.
