The fact that Fleury wasn't put on IR says to me that the team fully believes Fleury will be capable of at least playing back-up on Saturday, especially since his retroactive date would have him ready to be back in time for the Rangers game next week.

Rather FLeury get healthy if he's not feeling 100%. Good for Zatkoff to maybe get a few minutes in a game somewhere / get some experience. I've wanted to see this kid ever since people were talking him up from LA.

So essentially, the Pens just needed a backup for tonight's game against the Jets. Gotcha.

Yeah, I just don't think they want to risk Fleury having to play tonight if something happens to Vokoun. He needs a couple days off.

I would love to see Zatkoff get some minutes. Hes the exact opposite of what we've seen from our WBS goalie callups. Size and athleticism, it would be interesting to see how he does in an NHL game.

Do the Pens have to send Despres down as well due to Zatkoff getting called up?

Doesn't look like it... must be an emergency goaltender recall they're using for Zatkoff.

But Despres *will* need to go down for a few days in order to officially add Iginla to the roster when he gets his immigration paperwork resolved.

For what it's worth Iginla doesn't count as roster player yet since he has to clear immigration stuff first. NHL has an exemption for players changing teams across the border.

I'm feeling that this is only a day off for Marc-André, don't need to dress to warming the bench, just relax and rest.

Beau is a top 6 winger here or top liner in WBS. Since we've got these rentals... he's better off down there.

Sucks to see Fleury miss time, but I'm happy for Zatkoff. He's earned a call up, even if he doesn't get a start.

Keep calm guys, if Fleury's hurt, Shero will get Luongo no problem.

So do you think Fleury is at the arena chilling in a suite? Goalies just always seem to be on their OFP, haha.

I'm really getting tired of the sinifigence of the top players injuries every single year. It's one thing when one gets one every year, but this team always seems to be 3 +.

Bort will still be sitting I'd imagine.

Whenever he gets better. He's not very good. It's pretty sad that he can't wiggle his way into the lineup when Letang and Martin are both injured. Mark Eaton is better than him. The same Mark Eaton that couldn't find a job just a couple of months ago.

With one rookie already in the lineup Mark Eaton brings that calming vet presence. Then there's Murray. They don't want to over do the physicality.

You are negative about everything. Eaton was also playing over Despres. I guess that means Despres isn't very good either. Try actual analysis other than just flat out negativity. Bortuzzo is an NHL defenseman. He is young and will continue to get better. He would be on many teams top 6. However, we just acquired Murray and Bylsma defers to vets. Eaton got his shot over Bortuzzo and played very well so he has stayed. That isn't a slight on Bortuzzo.

No doubt disco favors vets. But I just don't see Bourtuzzo being anything other than a bottom pairing dman. We have enough of those types on the team in Murray, Engelland, Eaton and Orpik at this point.

Bobby Bourtuzzo is so damn overrated on these boards. You'd think he was a future NHL star like Tabgradi, Caputi or C. Bourque from all the praise.

Bottom pairing dmen are very important. Bortuzzo is still young and has potential to be a 4-5 big shutdown dman that logs top PK minutes. He may not hit that upside, but he is still valuable. His low cap hit also makes him very important when the salary cap drops next season. Also, Orpik is not a bottom pairing dman and you think Eaton sucks. The point is that you are overly negative all the time. I'm not sure why you are even a fan.

Also, what makes him overrated? Who do you see on here claiming he is a top 4 shutdown dman?
