Duh. No kidding.

I hate journalists in Montreal. For **** sake. Who couldn't deduce that Bourque was indeed doing better than last week, when they saw him on the ice this morning? What I want to know is if it's possible we get him back before the playoffs.

...

Is he not supposed to report what Bourque told him?

Your anger seems to be misplaced.

It's a concussion...you're talking about knowing the unknowable.

See, that I knew. I didn't know that Bourque was feeling better than last week.

Again, your frustration seems to be misplaced. Injury updates are very common in hockey, even when there isn't much news, which is the case in this particular situation. Concussions are tricky. So this is good news. It's not all that uncommon for a player with a concussion to feel worse than he did a week ago.

What's kind of scary is how Diaz has fallen off the face of the planet.

I don't think we see him again this season.

If that's the case, let's go get a D.

There's a huge difference between not selling the farm for upgrades, and making a giant "**** you" to the team by not giving them at least a decent chance of proving their value, and rewarding them for the good work they've done so far.

I agree, instead of Clowe we should be focusing on a big defender. Kaberle and Weber are useless and I hate seeing Boullion or a rookie as the only options to step up when one of Emelin, Markov or Gorges has a bad game.

Doesn't even need to be big. Someone who can play the right side with Bouillon - 19-20 minutes a night - who MT will not feel the need to shelter would be great.

Yes. I was so happy with his play this year.
Now I assume he's making no progress. We've heard nothing about
him even trying to skate. I hope that he's working out at least, and he
hasn't been shut down entirely.

Well, it's more important that they be a defense first kind of player, and being good at clearing the crease would be ideal - which usually describes the bigger defenders, someone like Regehr for instance.

The new 24CH weekly explains the concussion protocol.

http://video.canadiens.nhl.com/video...tid=66&lang=en

Looking at the hits Bourque took in FLA, I suspect that is where the concussion happened. Especially the 2nd hit they show.

That was informative. Based on the protocol it describes, Diaz's gym workouts show he's able to sustain some degree of cardio elevation, but symptoms reoccur when he pushes it further. The healing process has begun, which is good, but there's no way to know if he's weeks or months away from being able to skate at full speed. Depends if his current workouts involve working up a real sweat or merely walking on a treadmill.

If he's not back on skates within two weeks it's a safe bet he won't be back this season.

Rather have someone who can get Gorges off the second unit PP. There's a rumor on the main boards that the Habs are interested in David Savard. I'd prefer that if the price is right.

You probably also hate TSN as well, they had the same stupid headline...essentially saying that Bourque feels better after the concussion....

Bourque had a setback in the last two week. Him saying he feels better now is good news indeed.

Can't say I've noticed David Savard's play. Not clear to me he would crack the lineup.
