Big benchmark game tonight! Let's see if the Habs are real, or they are just an early season fluke...

GO HABS GO!!!

Measuring stick game

The wheels keep rolling. Huge week topping with the Bruins on Saturday.

Hopefully we can pick up some points on the Pens who lost Crosby and Martin for the forseeable future.

Keep the Staal boys away from Beaulieu. He has never been exposed to players with those skill sets.

I don't know if I should start Stepan or Pleks in my fantasy league, their recent stats are nearly identical but Pleks has the dishonour of playing next to Gionta, so I really don't know.

Stepan has Nash, doesn't he?

In either case, I'll go with Pleks as I think Winnipeg matches up nicely against the Rags.

Is Cam Ward still hurt? If he's healthy he can help us get Max scoring some goals again. Habs 3 Canes 2.

Stepan doesn't play with Nash, they put all their star players on one line.

I'd like to find the stats, but historically, Plekanec is nearly PPG against the Hurricanes I think

EDIT: He's got 18 pts in the last 14 games against Carolina. 31 in 29 in his career.

Trap game. Team thinks they are the **** after shutting out the Rangers and come out sleeping. Give two quick ones to Faulk and Semin in the 1st. Then, they lay a total egg in the second and give up another goal. Then, the fight back and get two in the third.

Seems like no one is scheduled for a GDT. If anyone wants to do one, feel free.

Can't make a drinking game but I'll be drinking, that's for sure. I'm applying to some really really hard art/creative programs and the deadline is tonight, I haven't done **** all for my portfolio so I'm gonna basically be tearing my hair out until the deadline. Drinks on me tonight.

I wish I could put up some of my better HFBoards posts as examples of my written wit, brevity and critical analysis of dynamic systems*... I mean I spend enough time on here as it is, might as well qualify it.

*So, naturally, the decision will end up being a choice between me, coolasPRice, OneSharpMarble and Habaneros.

Working, can't watch the game, but the Habs usually win when I can't watch so I'm hoping that one continues!

Canes fan coming in peace here - Ward's likely out the remainder of the regular season. You'll likely see Justin Peters tonight backed up by John Muse.

While Faulk is back skating with the team he's probably out too - he suffered a 2nd degree MCL sprain on March 19th and hasn't played since then.

Would appreciate a heads up on what your lines might be for our GDT. Based on your last GDT against the Rangers I have:

Ryder-Plekanec-Gionta
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Eller-Prust
Moen-Halpern-Armstrong

Markov(A)-Emelin
Subban-Gorges(A)
Bouillon-Beaulieu

Price
Budaj

Is this correct/likely for tonight?

Our lineup tonight is likely:

Tlusty-E. Staal-Semin
Bowman-J. Staal-Dwyer
Skinner-Nash-Jokinen
LaRose-Brent-Westgarth/Hall

Gleason-Corvo
Pitkanen-McBain
Harrison-Bellemore

Peters
Muse

Injured: Ward (3rd degree MCL sprain)
Faulk (2nd degree MCL sprain)
Sanguinetti (Upper body)
Ruutu (Lower body)

Correct, that's our lineup for tonight. Beaulieu-Bouillon is the 3rd pairing in that order.

Carolina will be hungry. They're desperate. We should consider ourselves the same (not that the boys haven't shown that kind of approach). Let's work on #2 spot and who knows, #1 might happen if we keep racking up points.

GHG!
