If any player has negative value in the league, Bouwmeester would be it.
It's basically a massive contract for someone that most likely is a 5th D-man on a contender. I'm sure most teams will stay well clear.
One year left and the Flames could certainly afford to eat some of the salary even with the cap going down.
He's still a top pairing guy and has had a very good season so far. If the Flames are willing to eat 1-2 million of the deal they could get a very nice package for him - IF Bouwmeester is flexible on where he goes.
They've been saying the same about Bogosian and Hemsky yet Holland never trades for either.
Bogosian Is unrealistic for the Wings, There Is no way that Winnipeg will trade him he's part of there future and Hemsky Is a waste he's always Injured and unreliable. I cant see why Detroit would want Hemsky he does us no good, I would rather have Stafford or Clowe or even Roy over Hemsky.
Hard to believe this is true in regards to St Louis.
They'd be lowering their leverage quite a bit in the Pietrangelo and to a lesser extent Shattenkirk talks. That's more important to them than acquiring a #3 dman.
McKenzie's not going to post incorrect information. Seems as though the Blues ARE interested. To what extent I don't know, but they have interest and that's a fact.
I think he'd make more sense for Detroit. I'm one of the Bouwmeester fans who feels he takes way too much crap from people on here and you just watch, if he's traded to Detroit he's going to be good. Still a very good player and he'd play well for the Wings.
