Yandle to Edm

Do you think that PHX would revisit this deal now that MPS is playing the best hockey of his career this year?

The asking price apparently is a young forward, defensive prospect, possible a 1st.

So with that being said:

MPS + D prospect (Marcinin, Gernat, etc..), 1st rounder. (2013 or 14)

It was rumoured that the Oilers offered MPS and Gagner at the draft for Yandle but I can't see them doing that now that Gagner is having a break out year.

What do you guys think?

I wish some Oiler fans would get over Yandle, and I highly doubt it that MPS would be traded.

I don't think the Yotes organisation is looking for any trade that's weighted towards the future like that. They are in the playoff hunt now and will probably not want to hurt those chances for this and next year.

If Phoenix is putting one of their two top-pairing d-men on the table, the Oilers have to put one of their big four forwards on the table as well.

Honestly, I think Phoenix would ask for Gagner+Paajarvi. They're both more proven now and improved enough that Phoenix would likely say yes if the Oilers add a bit. I certainly wouldn't deal Hall/RNH/Eberle/Yak for Yandle straight across. I also think the Oilers should just hang onto Gags and Paajarvi and just let them grow with the team.

Sounds like top young NHL forward + defensive and/or forward prospect + high pick RT @oilerfan12 what do you think Yandle would cost?

"Keith Yandle, D
Cap Hit: $5.25 million | Age: 26
Thanks, mainly, to the Coyotes' ownership woes, the team has been fielding calls for Yandle to help save a few bucks. However, GM Don Maloney won't just give the young All-Star away.

The asking price is a top young offensive forward, a defensive prospect and a possibly first-round pick."

This is from: http://www.thefourthperiod.com/trade...p25/index.html

TFP has been getting more and more reliable over the last few years so take it how ever you want but by the looks of things the Coyotes look to be willing to trade him for the right package of prospects and picks..

well reported at the draft, Phoenix TURNED down Gagner.MPS and a 2nd for Yandle--

It was speculated that for Phoenix to consider it, it had to be one of the big three or the first overall pick going to phoenix

You mean it was rumored, but never confirmed and I believe it was a 1st and not a 2nd in that rumor.

Yeah but this being said Gagner was no where near where he is now in terms of development and points and MPS seemed to be an AHL/NHL tweener..

A lot has changed since than with Gagner having a break out year and MPS playing the most physical he has ever played while being an offensive threat..

Well, the key point obviously is the weighting. The balance between now, next year and further down the road can obviously dramatically change depending on what expectation the Coyotes have for said "top young NHL forward". Their definition could be rather narrow.

Well let's just stop there. I must have missed the scheduled free handout of all star puck movers. Seems like no one really remembers how important they are or wants to pay up for one.

Doesn't change a damn thing. Maloney is on record as saying it will take an equally talented forward (meaning not Gagner or MPS) to get Yandle. Barring that, a massive overpayment of picks and young players/prospects. Don't like it, too bad. That's the price. He isn't being shopped. There's a reason teams are being link to Bouwmeester and not Yandle. The price is damn high.

The thing with Gagner is he won't save Phoenix that much money with the contract that he will be looking for.
