Rangers SHOULD be interested in McBain. Question is as always, what's the price?

The Rangers got Stralman for free. Carolina isn't giving McBain for free. Stralman has his good and bad momets. McBain always seems to be in the dog house.

Columbus looking to get a player to boost scoring for one of their first rounders. Maybe we can trade Gaborik and get back our first round pick

Stralman was a 7th rounder, he never had any stock worth much until last year.

Mcbain was a 2nd rounder that I'm sure a few teams have been watching for awhile now.

Wasn't Sanguinetti traded for a 2nd + 6th?

Sather should look into this.. Rangers need a first round... tired of them drafting 2ed and 3rd liners.. how about an offensive power forward goal scorer... they need to draft their own version type of player like Ryan Lucic Perry Giroux Hartnell Simmonds

Yes. 6th was Fasth and the 2nd went to Calgary in the Erixon deal.

Lots of internal debate in Stars front office right now: do they sign Jagr or do they trade him? Lots of interest in him of course
Pierre LeBrun (twitter) @Real_ESPNLeBrun

Over on hockeybuzz.com (aka Eklund) he said Rangers had inquired about Jagr. That would surely be interesting. Many have said that that ship has sailed and although I do agree and we are going younger, he would be a great deadline pick up to help the Rangers get to the playoffs and make noise in them. Question is would he fit, and I think at his age being on a team that does not need him to be the go to guy it could work for this season, next season is a different story though...

San Jose Sharks forward Ryane Clowe could be a Philadelphia Flyer by the end of the day Monday, sources say.

Clowe, 30, is in the final year of a deal that pays him a pro-rated $3.625 million this season. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in July.

Media reports have indicated the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers have expressed interest in Clowe, but sources say the Flyers have jumped in the mix and a deal sending the big winger to Philadelphia is all but done.

The Fermeuse-born, Mount Pearl-raised Clowe and the Flyers have already worked out a new multi-year contract, another source said.

Worse still, scouting reports on the big right winger havenít been all that encouraging coming out of San Jose this year. He missed four games with a shoulder issue and itís appeared to hamper his play all season, and factored into his lack of goal scoring after Clowe averaged 20 goals over each of the last four seasons.

ďHe seems to be protecting his shoulder rather than protecting the puck when guys come up to hit him,Ē said one pair of eyes thatís watched Clowe on the West Coast. ďFor a guy whose game has always been about being strong on the walls and puck protection, thatís a big concern.Ē
http://www.csnne.com/blog/bruins-tal...s-sharks-clowe

All of these teams chasing this player. What's Gaborik worth?

No more contract extension talks for #stars Derek Roy. Hearing Canucks have interest in him. We'll see if he'll be traded or not.

Now, GM Chuck Fletcher talks to every GM in the league about all sorts of players. We also know that Fletcher and Sharks GM Doug Wilson have each other's number in the *VIP section of their iPhones -- so to speak. Two summers ago, Fletcher and Wilson executed three different trades. I also know the Wild's had interest in Clowe before.

But the difference here is it sounds like the Wild has talked to Clowe's agent Kent Hughes. For that to have happened, the Wild would have had to have been given permission from San Jose. The reason?

For Clowe to waive his no-trade clause, he is looking to sign an extension with his new team.

The questions are: 1) What's the price to get Clowe and is the Wild willing to part with that? The Wild has said it is not looking to trade any of its blue-chip prospects, BUT, if it's not a rental pickup, if he's to be part of the core in the future, that changes things. The Sharks are looking to get younger and faster and the Wild is loaded with lots of prospects now; 2) How much are you willing to pay Clowe if you extend him. I've heard he's looking for a five-year deal in the $25 million neighborhood. That seems hefty; 3) What does acquiring Clowe do to your chemistry and where does he fit?
http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/200902701.html

Doesn't hurt to ask? $25M for Clowe and they say Gaborik at $7.5M is too expensive

#CBJ have depth at center and on defense that could be used - along with one of the first-round picks - to acquire a scoring winger.

There's a guy in NY for Columbus. I remember when the Rangers went into St.Louis with Gaborik for the first time. Someone leaked to the St.Louis Post Dispatch that the Blues made an offer for Gaborik in 2009. JD was running the Blues at that time.

#CBJ Cs, alphabetically: Anisimov, Brassard, Dubinsky, Johansen, Letestu, MacKenzie. Player w most value they'd be willing to move? Brassard

Brassard. Rangers #1 pick. Another asset.

Roy would help with the 3c position but defensively he is lacking. Also, what type of contract does he want?

Ugh, that would be beyond amazing. Could the Rangers sweet talk JD into trading back their 1st rounder? Brassard + prospect + NYR 1st for Gaborik?

Also would be interesting if Dubi was a return from Columbus. Dubi plus 1st for Gabby?

Simply in tems of adding some glue back into the roster.

Top line is already set.
61/21/62

4th line IMO is pretty good too.
14/28/45

What if...Gaby out, Dubi In...

17/47/23 <--New All-American line. Dubi and Callahan reunited. Provided alot of chemistry together in the past.
20/19/22 <--Boyle over to RW with Richie. Kreider on the other side.

For Gaborik? Can't see it. Even if it was feasible I think you'd see a conditional 1st that protected the highest pick of their 3 first rounders.

I don't want Anisimov back and I want Dubinsky back even less. At least Gaborik has some goals.
