Pac has produced with everyone. DD is creative and there's chemistry there but DD benefits far more from Pac than the other way around.

Subban... that's what everyone said this year and it didn't happen. The slew foots, giveaways and holding onto the puck too long has been going on all year. He might break out next year but he hasn't really proven that he will yet. Maybe Markov gets healthy and brings him along but... that's a crapshoot too.

We've got some pieces for sure. But we're missing a lot too. It's not going to be that easy.
DD has produced everywhere also.

Subban, as I predicted before the season, got off to a rocky start. Year 3 is the breakout year. he's already grown tons this year. Markov coming back etc, next year he'll bust out.

Stopped reading there. Carry on.

While people are hating on PG, he's slowly and surely putting the pieces in place for the habs to be a great young team. Getting one of the elite 4 forwards in the 2012 draft is key though. By the end of next year:

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Eller-Plekanec-1stRNDR
Bourque-Leblanc-Gallagher
Moen-White-Geoffrion

Markov-Emelin
Gorges-Subban
Tinordi-Diaz

Price
Well, that lineup is not particularly strong, BUT...........It is about $16M short of the salary cap.

It is not too hard to improve that team within the rules.

Add Gionta and UFA RW for the 3rd/4th line. Cap is now 7-9M$. Still not bad. I would use that money on D tho, ideally a 2 year deal that will expire with Kaberle to make room for Beaulieu Tinordi.

great call by the OP. Never thought the habs would be as good and as changed as they are this year, but from last place you can only get better ... I was optimistic as well, but still shocked and surprised today. OP had 5 legit points here ...

Well, it's mostly fixed, so I'm kind of stoked. But our penalty kill is rubbish and we still don't have a crease clearer who is solid in his own end.

1. We have no depth on the wings.

3. Kaberle will probably still be on the team.
4. Teams will have adjusted to Desharnais, he's going to have an even more uphill battle keeping up his development.
5. We probably won't have drafted Yakupov, and so if our pick is in the NHL they are probably being rushed.

Except for the games where we put more pucks in the net than the opposition, our winning percentage is zero.

Getting draft picks is nice but in what appears to be a weak draft it's not as exciting and these picks could be several years away from helping the team.......
Well, I wouldn't say Bouillon is a "big change" and while Markov did return, his ES play is not that stellar to make the difference, and yet............team defence is miles ahead of last year.

on 20 + teams he doesnt play period , cant do **** 5 on 5

we have no front line talent on D or upfront

unless we draft a stud nothing will change folks

team is a joke how we handle it

LeBlanc and Eller should be top 6 not playing with crap on bottom 6

Pleks has to go this summer ..time is up
Most idiotic post of the year.

5 Reasons to look forward to next season 2013-2014

1. The Stanley cup hangover we will have.
2. Going to Montreal to see the Stanley cup.
3. The Stanley cup parade.
4. Buying a Stanley cup Canadiens jersey.
5. Watching them win the Stanley cup again. Dynasty Baby.

Oh boy... here we go...

Most (all?) of us made our mea culpa a long time ago. I fully admit that I never, ever, ever expected us to be this good. I thought we might be a bubble team and maybe make the playoffs but no way did I think we'd do what we're doing now.

Seriously everything has gone right for us this year. And as I've said, with the younger players we've added and the way some guys have progressed I don't think it's a fluke.

And I made my mea culpa on the Cole trade. Seeing what he is doing in Dallas, I am ok with the third round pick and the cap relief, and Ryder's production and defensive improvement are just a really nice bonus!
