Lets get Clowe and his 0 goals instead.

Seriously, the one thing that team doesn't need is more scorers, especially when they have two better Clowe clones in Simmonds and Hartnell. Imagine if they trade Couturier for him.
This.

Clowe has less mobility than Latendresse did.

Let that sink in.

Think it's clear Montreal has zero interest. But atleast we might have an interesting trade deadline.
Still waiting for Frolov.

Reliable sources only, please.

We can allow some rumor chatter from unreliable sources (e.g. some guy on twitter saying Montreal has been rumoured to be looking at Joe Blow) but when it comes to official trades and breaking news, make sure it comes from a solid source like TSN, Sportsnet, etc. Use your own judgement and feel free to PM a mod if you're unsure.

There's no prize on HF for being first with the news, it's much better for everyone to wait for someone reliable to confirm it first.

How many soft forwards do you want?? This team needs more players like Brandon Prust but preferably ones who can also skate. Glencrossor Clarkson would be my preference.

yah ill let it sink in all right. Do you guys realize how much of a beast he is in the playoffs? and if we had him against boston in the playoffs we would be almost equally as tough as them. when has that ever happened? seems to be a lot of clowe haters around here.

Really want to see Jay Bouwmeester traded just so he could play a playoff game in the NHL. Played 0 playoff games in the WHL and only 18 in the AHL.(same year too)

Handzus might be even worse than Clowe at this point in his career, so his value will be telling.

I was thinking a little more on this David Savard chatter. I could see something around Savard and maybe a 2014 pick for Yannick Weber.

Reason being, we have our likely top 6 locked up next season. We have 2-3 guys really who could really push Weber down the depth chart in Tinordi and Beaulieu, and maybe even Pateryn. We could even add another D-Man as a UFA or at the trade deadline.

Weber is no longer Waiver exempt and would definitely be taken if we tried to assign him to Hamilton. Savard would give us another waiver exempt D-Man in our system giving us more flexibility.

Count me on the people would like Pominville on the team. But, he is not 6'. I'd be surprised if he is over 5'10"
I was standing next to him once at a game in Repentigny and he's much shorter than I am. I'm about 6'01".

Not a problem with his talent level, but I believe the Habs would need to substract one of their smaller forwards if they go for him.

I would love to get Chris Stewart if he's available. 6' 2 232, 25 years old, 15 goals, doesn't lose fights.

A younger, better version of Ryane Clowe.

Why should we try to beat Boston with toughness?

We can beat them with skill and actual hockey instead. Our players are not intimidated, let the Broons get penalties while we maul them on the PP. Thats how we've beat them troughtout the years and we have been pretty effective in doing so.

Pominville -

Can play the point on our second wave PP
Can play first line
Moves Gionta to the third line, at the same time upgrading Eller's line.

Ryder-Plekanec-Pominville
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gionta (Prust would likely play instead of Galchenyuk on that line, especially in the playoffs)

That doesn't sound bad at all to me. It makes our top6 much more lethal and helps our third line as well. Our current team has 3 scoring lines and it is one of the strenghts of this team, we need to consider that. Very hard to contain so many skilled forwards. Pominville is good defensively as well, so yeah he won't punch Lucic but it doesn't matter if we score and the opponent doesn't.

He probably is if we are willing to give up Eller Beaulieu and a 1st.
