Of course.

PHX - trap team - no one considers Mike Smith a top goalie
NSH - d-first system with 2 of the best Dmen - Rinne gets a pass but everyone doubted Lindback
LA - plays like its still 2003 - Quick has come back down to Earth
CBJ - blocks shots and collapses - does anyone consider Bob an elite netminder?
STL - Hitchcock system - most fans realized Elliot had inflated stats
SJ - this year they grind like crazy - Nemo is playing well but they limit chances
VAN - every time they revert back to a d system (end of last season, currently) our goalies put up .940SV+

I was wondering what teams are going to have cap problems for next year? The Canucks have some obvious moves to do but have alot of salary to drop. Other teams must be in tougher position, but i have not hear any comments on any contender team having potential problems? I imagine in the cap going down there must be a lot of players going to be bought out of traded for scraps for next season. I think the owners may finally get their wish of many free agents fighting over a small amount of money.

You will probably hear more of it when April comes around.
Even at this point of the season, there are still more than 10 games left to play.
The season won't be over until near the end of the month.

Just like that, Ovechkin is 18-18-36 in 36 games and willing his team to the playoffs.

He may not be scoring 100pts, but I would still love to have in on the Canucks.

55 goal, 105 point pace over past 18 games. He's not the old Ovechkin but he's getting back bit by bit.

The Canucks are not great and just had a six game winning streak.

If Canucks learn anything from Columbus, I would be extremely concerned.

Canucks are back-to-back presidents trophy winners, been to the Stanley Cup finals, with players that have won numerous individual awards.

Well he's on pace for almost a 400 shot season playing with Backstrom and a revolving door of terrible wingers, so I have to agree. I said earlier this year I think he's still a 50 goal 100 point player if they built that team a bit better. He might lose a bit physically as he ages, but he's starting to play smarter and learn how to better play in-zone offense (find soft spots in to open up his shot). I've liked what I've seen from him.

Pride comes before the fall. If the Canucks don't think there's anything to learn from a team like Columbus, then they'll never win it all.

Was last night really AV's fault? Garrison read the play poorly and pivoted the wrong way on the first goal, Higgins played himself out of position on the second and the puck went right through Schneider, 2 guys in good position let Hall blow right past them on the third and Lu was soft on the post on the 4th.

What of that was AV's fault?
Wait av admitted the team did not do enough preparation heading into playoffs? Thats news to me, would love to hear or read that quote though to understand the context of it. I have never heard him criticize any aspect that involves coaching (especially post game loss), certainly not to the extent babcock did today when the team came out flat footed and unprepared like we did last night and babcock said its his job to make sure the team is game ready.

Edit

http://www.vanhockey.com/2012/05/24/...din-bombshell/

The author (botchford) seems to paint that picture of the team not being prepared (caught with pants down), av did seem to take a little bit of blame sort of (right after he re-signed his extension and had his job security) but in a real back handed sort of way that also made him seem like a victim in all of this as well because he then went on to say he was lead to believe by gillis daniel would be back and the team was not prepared because he was given false info and that head injuries are unpredictable and timelines can change. (“But I was always under the impression he was going to be there. “)

In any case I never recalled him getting torched really for that, but if he did in this specific issue with daniel I think there is plenty of blame to go around the organisation for that, not just him.

I'll be interested to see if SJ scratches Ryane Clowe from tonight's game (see CGY vis a vis Iginla). Makes sense given the situation.
Dominos a fallin'?

That's disappointing.
I don't know how he is performing right now, but for a while he was the perfect 3rd liner.
Hopefully the Canucks at least kicked the tires on that one.
