you know, I did a lot of reading on this injury, and one of the major concerns is infection, because your mouth is so full of germs and bacteria and the break actually releases all of it. Crazy ****. All of this could have been prevented if Sid brushed and flossed.

With the deadline coming soon, maybe the pens are trolling the league and forcing teams to make moves thinking Sid could be out?

Don't be suprised to see Sid at practice on Thursday an in the line up for Friday night!!

I'm one of the most optimistic people here as far as a return date for Sid, and I think that's pushing him a little too much

But really, April 17 is a perfect return date. Gives him 2 and a half weeks off, the team is coming off a 3 day break, it's a big home game against one of the top teams in the East, and he'll still get to play 6 more regular season games.

I could think of a list of things better to do as a teenager on spring break.

Anyway, let's hope for no setbacks. With this club's injury luck, until Sid is back at home I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Mario's reputation would be ruined for good if that happened and the truth that Sid is actually a Terminator reprogrammed to play hockey was revealed...

Plus it's the last game I have tickets to, so it would work out great if everyone whose picking that game for his return are right

I have tickets to that game. I was joking, but I'm also hoping for a miracle!

I think the Pens are holding Sid and Letang put to prevent them from winning awards to help them in contract negotiations.

To fix even a hairline fracture of the jaw I am fairly certain that you need to stabilize the jaw with screws and/or plates. I do not know about you but someone cutting into my face, and drilling holes into my jaw sounds like it would be traumatic. You might want to let the body recover from that before you start yanking the stubs of teeth out and putting in replacements. Hell, it takes the labs a week to even make replacements that will be customized to fit your mouth.

Now your Crosby. You just had major surgery and will have to come back in four or five days for more. If they just let you stay there to recover would you do it? And you are the Pens. You have a hundred million invested in this kid. Infection is always an issue. Where do you want Crosby between operations?

Make sense?
If you're concerned about nutrition and infection - the last place you want to be is a hospital folks.

If it's true that Crosby could be going home in the next 24 hours then that's good news.

If he's out of the hospital an his jaws not wired, there are no concussion symptoms and he's able to talk an eat. He shouldn't be out of the line up to long?

Yeah, I was confused by that post too. I'm sure there are no viruses and bacteria in a place with tons of sick people.

My prediction of Montreal game as his return looks good so far. He'll take a short while off for sure.

i dont have to, as i stated i see it everyday i go to work. and bottom line these patients on these liquid diets have trouble maintaining their weight (liquid diets/feeding tubes etc etc). go into that nursing home and im sure you'll see while patients may be getting their nutrients they have trouble maintain weight.
plus its very difficult to maintain that caloric intake with just liquids?

back on topic with sid, it wont matter much cause his jaw isnt being wired shut. so he'll be able to eat softer foods from the start. i was more worried about it if he had to have it wired for a few weeks

He needs to practice his matrix-dodging just like Neo did.

Sarcasm? Hospitals are sanitary soul sucking wormholes of despair, and I question whether some of them are even all that sanitary. I don't think it's a bad sign that Sid is still in there but I wouldn't be surprised if he's tying bedsheets together and planning to escape out a window.

He does have some serious chicklets. I would be shocked if he's going to wait until after the season to get implants.
