I tried to stock up on picks and went for young players last time around but that obviously crapped out and I got screwed over. 1st rounders are overrated in this game. Now I'm taking a different approach. The only piece I'm actually sad to see go was Gudbranson but hey I got Wiz and Dubi so I can live with that. I'm getting the players I want and will give up young pieces that aren't that valuable in my eyes. If you want to exploit that, then go for it

Columbus would like to announce another deal, this one with the Carolina Hurricanes. We are sending Vinny Prospal to the Hurricanes for shut-down defender prospect Keegan Lowe + Carolina's 4th '13. We would like to thank Vinny for his services and leadership but we feel it is time to take a new direction that does not include him moving forward.

acquired
D Jonas Brodin
F Matt Cullen

acquired
F Ryan Malone

The Lightning are very happy to announce the acquisition of defenseman Jonas Brodin, who joins a young core group of blossoming defensemen here in Tampa. We felt Ryan's best interests laid with another contender.

Forward Matt Cullen was included for salary purposes.

Approved by NY RKY

The Coyotes are interested in discussing a trade for a 1st or 2nd line forward.
